I'm not a fanboy, but if blizzard now raped me (as they did with diablo 3 and wow at some point)

I would still like them for all the memories we shared. Playing Diablo 1 at the age of 11 being generally scared when entering the first level of Tristram church or what ever. Playing Warcraft 3 when the phone rang and my mate shouting about this new amazing online game called World of Warcraft he just saw at his friends house.

(Before I knew the web was more than porn and free illegal music <3)

People can hate them all they want, I love the look of an old Mustang in its 60's but I don't really agree with the way the new fords nor mustangs are looking nor the way the company is promoting itself.

You can hate blizzard till you are soaked in hatred for everyone and everything. Or you can accept that you have grown up and that the games they make today also need to include stuff for people who know who Justice Beaver is.

I got D3, played it for a week or so before getting hacked, got back up on the saddle but quit after a week more. Yet i have not posted a hate letter to blizzard anywhere, I think I'm old enough to say "Hey man, it's just not me"

Well bad example with the Hat and Hero cause those games were both f2p from start if i remember correctly. But then think COD maps, or BF3 expansions. I just think an expansion is something that works in singleplayer or multiplayer were the people arent against you.

A more simple way to put it (ohh you are gonnna hate me for this)

In WoW if you could enter lvl 60 Battlegrounds at lvl 70 cause you had the expansion while they didn't. In BF3 and the like, that's possible.

Do'h -.- all that was ment as a reply to a comment futher down.

It is not a reply to the article per say.

I agree with you to some extent.

But - "I can't think of anything else they make I want to play and would skip mass effect 3 if I hadn't played through the first two." - Whaat?

ME3 was a good game and worth the buck in my opinion, whats not is the endless DLC's to multiplayer games while they don't host the servers. Screwing up balance between buyer and not-buyer.

I don't mind more maps, where those with the DLC can play with fancy new weapons, but when they can then enter old maps with those weapons, and no official servers are stopping this. If everyone else have the DLC in a multiplayer game, you are peer pressured into buying it too, or so you think. If you keep dieing to pricks with weapons you haven't seen before, I recon, you are gonna look up how to get those cause they got to be more powerful than yours.

Another thing is us. We are the ones paying 2 bucks every other week for a new Hat to wear on TF2 or another Hero in LoL. Buying a game is not just buying a game anymore, after you buy it, its f2p wether you like it or not, they are going to ask you for more money, ofc they are. Why, cause 10% will get mad, 40% wont mind and 50% will buy that stupid Hat, Map, Weapon or anything else they can hang on the wall called "IPwnU".

(Like all other statistics on the Web, those are made up :)

Never played the Civ games before but am quite fond of a lot old RTS games.

I'm sure getting Civ V first would be something to look in to, though I do see what people are saying, about Gamespot promoting rather than Reviewing games these days. Maybe I'm just getting old, but even in other GS reviews they show you what you get in the game, and not how it is to actually play the game for more than 5 min?

@couly Ye was thinking the same.. My 4 year old rig pretty much handle everything the games have to offer (that is without upgrading for about 3years!) Few games might have doing better with an upgraded CPU though. Just went through ME3 on highest, and i figure i will do well this year without an upgrade 2.. So what does all these new beast GPUs bring us, other than fancy looking Demos? Its like having a 1000 horsepower car for city use, its not likely you will be going more than 50km/h anyway ?..

@YukoAsho Totally with you on sensationalism, but the US have passed more !#&%ed up bills than this (Post 9/11 being one of the biggest and nastiest) So i get why people would read this and think "ohh !#&%" We all know by now, who is controlling what gets passed in america and why, if the corporations really are backing this up, and those being the ones listed here and posibly more, then there are real concern for this to be a reality. But hey, Im not american but from what i see the "people" of america have not exatly been getting things their way for years now :P

Wauw these sure look good, and I can only imagin what else the modders are gonna make for improving this allready great game. Fast Travel directly to houses maybe :P ? Hate using the whiterun hold for Enchant table and/or using my house in solitude. Anyways Thank you for the efforts put into these mods :)
