I'm with Kevin on this one. If you break it down piece by piece I'm sure anyone would find things to complain about. But when you look at the big picture, the general message from Sony was positive. I got the impression that they are focusing on the gaming aspect with the PS4. This generation's biggest problem was both consoles wanting to push gimmicks and other features like movies, music etc. Sounds to me like they've learnt from their mistakes and if you focus mainly on gaming, the talent and innovation in gaming will no doubt follow.
Having read the comments, I get the feeling many haven't even read the article before commenting. A lot of comments are completely off topic. He's not just talking about sharing and social services but how this could be used in ways to enhance gameplay. Take the Souls sequel example. That would be interesting and downright worrying if it were to happen. I can imagine myself sweating buckets if at some point I must watch my character controlled by someone else.
This announcement did nothing for me as I'm done with Blizzard. They built D3 around the auction house so they could have a new cash cow and as such put out what is the worst Diablo game. And then there's Warcraft which was always a ground breaking RTS game. Alas, Warcraft will never be an RTS game again. /rant over
What's ridiculous are the high scores each cookie cutter CoD gets by reviewers. It's been the same game for 4 years now and for some reason they overlook that fact. I bet lots of sheep in the gaming media are gonna fawn all over this again.
