The design aspect is cool but my point is, what does it all mean? Can I see other explorers? Interact? Fight or combine to fight others?

When you see other players they are just a glowing orb with a name. We will likely get player models with the next update.

If you want a game with a lot of fighting or co-op multiplayer this is the opposite kind of game you are looking for and I would advice you to not bother with it. In fact if a game without a point seems like a bad thing then you wont like this game. And there is nothing wrong with that. I like the idea of a game letting you play it however you want and giving you no real direction and just making your own thing out of it. Obviously people like me are going to be in a minority of gamers. I like all kinds of games though and am open to radically different ideas. I like seeing the boundaries pushed and developers trying ambitious ideas even if the game itself fails.

O absolutely love freedom but from everything Ive read and heard, its just going to different planets and gathering resources. Thats not worthy of full price admission and it is meaningless. I mean what kind of adventure am I supposed to have? Games like Fallout, Skyrim, heck even TW3 which I dont like that much, let you explore and do many different things your way and tell your own stories. The GTA series may actually be the best at that. Drive up a mountain, drive off, parachute down, or fly a plane over a city and then glide down to a rooftop. You end up with so many stories to tell your friends.

Not sure if NMS is that if its so basic. BUt I'll keep an eye on various updates.

Cool thread. Visiting places however, is very different to living there. I spent about 2 weeks in New York visiting family and enjoyed it. Spent 3 months doing a medical placement and really did not like it. I mean the food is great (so much meat haha) but coming from England, I was shocked at how rude people were. Rarely any sorry or thank you or excuse me. It's not as bad as Paris for example, but up there hehe

I havent even seen the latest Thor and whatever the previous Marvel movie was, so this is low on my pecking order. The CGI looked too intrusive and the entire look was trying too hard to be cool. Plus I've never been a fan of the character. So meh, reveiws have been good so who knows

Not quite a discussion on the show (it can turn into one if you like) but what happened to the article? The comments have been locked, did something controversial happen?

BTW its the article on nudity.

I was wondering the same thing. This wasn't the only article that I saw comments locked on. My guess is they were getting a bunch of comments calling the article stupid, because quite frankly it is. The reason why there's so much violence and nudity in Altered Carbon is because it's in the book. It was a pretty pointless article.

Haha yeah, if it is part of the book, of course it will be in the show. I personally am not a fan of huge amounts of nudity and the first ep has A LOT, as I feel it dents any impact if it is always present. BUT I did enjoy the action sequences, so I might watch a few more eps.

What did you think?

We've had a few of these, but my picks are;

McLaren F1 (not a typo, not the F1 car, not the P1, the 1997 Road Car)

GTR Nismo (Black with Red accents)

F12 Berlinetta (in Azure Blue with Modena Yellow accents)

Yes I'm picky, but I like my cars, the only car I don't care about is the F1, because its awesome and I'll take it in ANY colour, even hot pink.

That McLaren was my first super car crush. I sat in it during an expo in London some time back.

And now I'm gonna pick a really obvious one, Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (the original 2005 version). Just seeing it with its batmobile like look, all in black, slick, powerful, so damn fast, it must be something to drive.

I played Crysis 3 a while back (during a free weekend) and it looks gorgeous. The broken city with all its foliage and most importantly, the facial animation and textures. They were almost lifelike. I dunno if the game has had a face lift since 2013 but it looks better than most games I've played in the last year on my pc at full settings. HOWEVER, at no point does it ever render a world as large or as detailed as TW3, so although the latter doesnt have facial animation and textures anywhere near as good Crysis, its environment and lighting is on a different level, especially based on the scale of things.

So base building has been included but what does that mean? Do bases have to be defended against invading enemies? Can you recruit soldiers for the cause? What's the point?

The playstation is THE place to play games tbh. Great exclusives and all the important AAA 3rd party exclusives, with a healthy indie market too.

I mainly use my PC for online shooters (BF1 etc).
