I'm also not a huge online gamer, I'll play Halo and Battlefield and Modern Warfare, but definitely, not why I buy a game. I think I have seen the total online population around 11k before, very surprising. I think the online is great for the most part. It's the other people that tend to ruin it. Now I am just working on my last metal, finishing the game on crushing. That'll likely keep me busy until WF2. :)
Does your laptop know to connect to the wireless network, is the wireless device on, is there a toggle switch for the wireless on the laptop, is it on?
What OS are you using?
Can you search for available networks? If so, can you see the router?

I generally don't take consumer reviews on sites like Newegg to heart since they tend to be petty complaints. However, 73% of the total reviews have this item very poor to poor. I would stay away from them, personally. You will get what you pay for though so just keep that in mind when you look for something at the price range.
Which quadrant of the ring on the power button is lite up? Check these errors. Possibly helpful

You dont have to use an xbox adapter. I don't, I use a linksys game adapter.
I definitely could be missing it, but when I poke around on the web concerning your issue. I get a lot of hits that requiring soft or hard mods in order to do what you're wanting. Again, I could be missing something.
Anyone have any experience with HDMI Splitters? To clarify, I do not need an HDMI switch. I want to control which TV/projector receives a signal from a single device, my PS3 in this case. The distance from source to each TV/projector would not exceed 40 feet.
Monoprice has:
a NON POWERED 1 to 2 Splitter for $6.65 and,
a POWERED 1 to 2 Splitter for $27.67.
What added benefit, if any, am I getting with the powered splitter? I was thinking the powered splitter mainly acts as a repeater/booster for longer cable runs?
Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.
