This one's close, both Yamaha and Onkyo make excellent receivers but if I had to pick, I'd go with the Onkyo. They have similar specs but the Onkyo has one extra component input for a total of three (good for your 360, Wii, and PS3). Also, just on a stylistic note, I'm not too crazy about Yamaha's amber colored display; Onkyo uses a standard blue-red display.
Onkyo all the way. I've always had Onyko and loved every unit I have had. The extra component thing is nice too :p
