The ability to put PS/PS2 save files back onto a memory card via the memory card adaptor was added?

Initially you could only transfer from the memory card to the PS3's hard drive, but I've heard people saying that it's now possible to do vice versa.

I only ask because I've spent 70 hours on Final Fantasy VIII (platinum UK version), but I didn't realise until I reached disc 4 that it has compatibility issues with PS3's (in that it doesn't run at all!). :cry:

As much as I love this game, I don't feel like starting the whole thing again just to play the last disc, but I really want to go and kick Ultimecia's face in myself :(

If anyones tried this recently (as in 2009 recent), could they let me know? I'd be eternally grateful :D
