Xbox One - I like the multi-functionality of an all in one kind of unit. There are a lot of future development opportunities with that console. I am not a kinect fan, but I can see how they have integrated it nicely into the system with the XB-1.

I am not a fan of "checking-in" or the complications involved in sharing games or the idea that everyone is "always online". So...when my internet provider goes down, I can't even play a single player game? Not cool. For the folks that made leaps in on-line gaming, it is disappointing to see XB go in this direction. That being said...it is not a dealbreaker.

PS4 - I like that they announced that you can play games off-line and that you own the game and that your console won't stop working if you don't check in. It is clear that the console itself is quite a powerful gaming application. I know that Sony is a massive entertainment empire so I am sure they will bring other movie/tv options to the table.

I am not sure how "next gen" this console is. What does it bring except more power and better specs? I am honestly asking...because I don't remember seeing it when I watched the press conference online.

Games are toss up. I have an Xbox so I am partial to those exclusives...but there are some PS games that I have always wanted to play. Honestly...it is six of one, half dozen of another.

So...all of that to say...I am torn. Here is my initial thought though. Since I am happy with my XB360...why not wait until both of these come out and see what kind of moaning and groaning people do about both and then with a little more information other than what two massive corporations (Sony and Microsoft) are trying to propogate, I will make a decision that is right for me...and not really care what anyone else buys or says on a forum. Ha ha.
