@XXXPAINKILLERXX Not sure what you mean about buying a game and it only stays on your account. All my games work on all systems. In fact for downloaded games, PS3 is lightyears better. I can put my account on any PS3 and all the games I have on my account are available to anybody who uses that system. The 360 will only let you use those games on YOUR account. Any other accounts can only use the trial versions of those games.

Farewell old friend. I will still keep a ps2 hooked up though. Just too many great games to revisit. Definitely one of the best consoles ever made!

Politicians of all sorts are going to keep attacking and blaming video games for the world's problems because the people in office right now didn't grow up with video games. These are old men and women who were maybe in their 20s or 30s when Pac Man came out and that was intense and hard to understand for them. In another decade or so when a genration that grew up with and understand video games starts taking over these ridiculous attacks on gaming will start to fade away. By then there will be some new thing for politicians to rally against and blame, instead of actually trying to fix these kinds of issues. It was once rock n roll, jazz, swing, black and white silent movies, Mozart, Paganism, ect. Whenever there's a new form of entertainment the kids are into that the grown-ups (i.e. old people) don't understand, or a popular cultural something-or-other that goes against the norm, they blame the world's troubles on it. Once gaming is accepted as a legit form of entertainment instead of being viewed by adults as a scary new phenomenon the kids are into, the government will move on and find a new scapegoat to help them avoid the issue while looking like they care. If they fessed up and admitted the media overcovering tragedies and making criminals into folk heroes for ratings while ignoring the need for better parenting in these sickos they'd all be put out of a job, since most of the big media companies are owned at least in part by politicians.

How about instead of running around pointing fingers at games, guns, teachers, parents, nuns, kittens and unicorns for these horrible tragedies, we own up to the fact that people are committing these shootings. Sick people to be sure, but people. Then maybe we can move on from the blame game and start focusing on how to prevent more sick people from doing these awful acts. Here's a hint: banning guns and video games won't change a damn thing. You can search the internet and figure out how to make all kinds of awful weapons out of household products if you look hard enough. People have been killing each other and committing violent acts towards one another since there were people in existence. Video games didn't start violence. Neither did rock n roll, horror movies and cartoons. Get rid of guns and people will run around with knives and swords again. Or worse they'll start making bombs and such. Won't change much. Banning video games would change even less. Except piss off video game players.

@spammehardo @xolivierx @GeneralBeanX I've recently read several stories from Texas in which some nutjob tried to shoot up a place in public and was put down before he ever fired off a round by armed citizens. When I was 12 I had access to drugs, guns and pretty much anything else i could have wanted. I didn't take advantage of that situation because I didn't see the need to, but I had the connections at that age if I wanted to. Criminals do not care if guns are outlawed. They don't follow laws anyway. I believe guns should have to be holstered in plain sight though. Some a-hole who wants to shoot up a place is gonna think twice about it if he sees a dozen armed people in that place. The point is, less guns will increase crimes as the criminals will not adhere to the laws banning guns. They will still be armed. Nobody else will. It'll be free reign.

I hope he gets his wish. They should do non-partial studies to determine the effects of violent video games on children. Personally I think if the study's handled in an unbiased manner it will work against him. Violence has been around for thousands of years. The news making such a huge deal about these shootings is much more to blame than any video game. Nobody should even know the name of the shooters in these tragedies. Instead their names are plasted all over the news letting other people with homicidal tendencies know that going around killing a bunch of innocent people is an easy way to get famous. His hipocritical statement about the NRA "passing the buck" is exactly what he's doing by blaming violent video games for these incidents. I have two boys. I pay attention to the games they play. My oldest (11) plays Halo. That's as violent as we let him play. Call of Duty is too realistic, GTA and Saints Row are obviously too violent and geared towards adults and most other M rated games are just innapropriate for children. Some would say even Halo is too violent and for some kids it most certainly is. I sat down with my kid, played the game with him and explained the difference between the violence in the game and real-life violence and made sure he knew why real-life violence is wrong. When it comes to violence in video games, it really needs to be the parents responsibilty to pay attention to what their kids are doing and what they're into. I know not to let my kids watch Dexter or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Parents need to educate themselves about video games if that's what they're kids are into. NOT expect the stores to dictate what their children can and cannot do. Hmm... I kinda went all over the place with this comment. Still I stand by everything I said.

I've played the original on PS2 several times through now. I really want to play this version. It's a shame it's not being ported to PS3. I really can't afford a Vita and almost never play portable systems. Still, this has me tempted to buy one and enjoy all the extra content. P3 & P4 are some of my all-time favorite rpgs. I just don't think it's worth $200 for a new system to play a game I already own on. Here's to you PSN... port it up in a few months so I can add it to P3Fes on the PS3.

I had given up on this one a long time ago. It's awesome that it's finally coming out. Hopefully it lives up to the wait. I know these guys put their hearts into this and are giving it awesome fan service. Just hope it's not another Duke Nukem Forever (at least it's free if it is).

Honestly this game should have been reviewed by someone who hasn't played the pc version as well. It's a little biased to base a review on another game. A more fair review would have contained a Minecraft newcomer's opinion and maybe added a pc player's perspective at the end to let pc player's know if it's worth it. All this review does is tell people who have already played the game to let it go. Personally I enjoyed the game immensely. I appreciated the tutorial and the fact that I don't have to look online to figure out how to make something. I know pc fanboys are going to cry foul and explain how clearly the pc version is better, which it obviously is, but for my money I prefer the console version as I don't like being stuck at my desk to play games. Hopefully updates and whatnot will improve the console version over time, but in the meantime I'm still enjoying this game and recommend it to anyone who hasn't played Minecraft yet.

True the combat in Amalur is way better. As it is in Dark Souls. But the overall package in Skyrim blew both those games out of the water. As much as I like Amalur, the majority of the quests were of a simple go here, kill this or collect this variety. While Skyrim offered much more varied quests throughout. I assassinated politicians without being seen, cleared out massive dungeons, scaled mountains, crafted armor and had a blast simply exploring. Sure the main draw of the game (dragons) failed miserably, but the sheer amount of content packed into one game, and the fact that most of it was good content, is where I feel Skyrim raised the bar. Plenty of people like to knock Skyrim because it's so popular, even more like to knock it for it's myriad glitches (of which I rarely experienced), but the fact remains that Bethesda has been creating insanely detailed worlds filled with substance. I was hooked since Morrowind and while Oblivion dissappointed some, they haven't failed yet. Amalur was a fantastic first attempt, but the fact is it's basically a single player MMO. The quests aren't very compelling, the story is lacking and the characters, while amusing at times, lack any long-standing personality. The combat was awesome, but that's not enough to make a rpg great. I think that future entries in the series could have corrected these flaws and turned this into the next big thing in rpgs. Unfortunately the first game's mediocre sales just didn't do it justice and now that chance is blown. Yeah sales started off pretty strong, but pretty much everyone who was going to buy the game did within the first couple months.
