I'm personally dissapointed there will be no press conference, Nintendo's are usually the only ones I bother to watch. But at the end of the day I'm still going to get the news, announcements, media and impressions on the games I care about, so I'll get over it.

Based on what youve written, I'd infer Nintendo doesn't really need to pique your interest because they clearly already have it.
By contrast, I am almost entirely indifferent to the Wii U at this juncture and like many I was expecting them to use E3 to demonstrate that the console is actually relevant even as MS and Sony ready their respective behemoths for launch.
Instead, they are looking once again to be coy and divergent when all I require is a concise presentation with enough software to mitigate and rectify this disastrous launch.
But clearly, Nintendo isn't catering to me. I'd venture to postulate they don't want another dime of my money given their current strategy.
This. I love Nintento and own a 3DS, but their complete lack of advertisement or hype for the WiiU is really making me want skip it. Them deciding not to have a press confrence just makes it very obvious to consumers and retailers that the WiiU is utterly dead in the water. They would have been overshadowed by Sony and Microsoft regardless but the only thing worse than releasing an underpowered console with an atrocious lineup is not even trying to be competitive with it especially when you have a head start in the console market already.
