You completely misunderstood my comment.

Quake/DOOM are whole FPS GENRE pioneers (Wolfenstein created FPS), and many many people think the kinda gameplay that is in Call of Duty and pretty much every other Modern FPS, is the ONLY style of FPS that there is. I'm talking about this AimDownSights, regenerating health, sprint weaponlimit bs. You know Quake and those games let you play the game. There isn't any realism limiting the game's possibilities. You can run and gun with perfect accuracy, you can carry 15 weapons and switch from Rocketlauncher to Railgun, and you can run 90mph speed, you can rocketjump to alot higher than you can in Titanfall. Once you put those games online.. then it's about pure skill, since there are no perks or loadouts or any tiers. It's just equal start with everyone and the map has different weapons and powerups to pickup. You also don't die from one shot to toe.. Instakills require true skill instead.

That is the main problem that people have no idea of Quake/UT/DOOM. I've seen many people who think FPS=Call of Duty. Man.. this is why i'm wating on Bleszinski to set things straight with that possible new game of his.

That explains it..

I play on PC. On PC people have better accuracy in general becaus a mouse is more accurate than a gamecontroller. It has been proven. Reason MS back off from PC-console crossplay on some game few years back, was because even some beginner PC players were smoking the consolegamers. It's just that the equipment has a difference. Mouse is more accurate.

This might be a fun console game since it's been designed for that but on PC it's pretty bad. If you've ever played Quake, UT or CS, you know what i'm talking about.

You ain't wrong. It's a very mediocre game at best which wants to be different, but is too scared to try some new stuff like actually having some health so you don't insta-die from campers and people who cowardly come from behind and shoot in your back. The mobility with parkour becomes less and less usefull when you realize that there are campers in pretty much every match who's only objective is to stay in certain area and snipe people. They ignore the change this game is trying to bring (mobility) and just continue the CoD playstyle. That is the biggest fail with this game. You are able to play it like CoD, a camper game.


I think i'll head back to Quake Live and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for some truly skillbased FPS gaming.

Though, this game is actually nowhere near Quake or UT in terms of versatility.

I'm getting alot of times killed by campers. This game wants to be Quake/Arena Shooter, but the CoD gameplay brings it down. The game wants to break the Modern Shooter mold but it fails because you succeed by camping and thats why the mobility is less usefull in this game. You get sniped by campers while you are being mobile and utilizing the parkour.

Yes, after all the bash i gave, i did eventually buy this because i got it on sale (35€ only) and it does represent a different direction for Modern FPS. The kind i want to support.

Non-onehit kill would already save this game. It would be more about skill. Now it's just the same old noobfest CoD. People shooting people in the backs. In Quake it's always man to man, face to face. This is why the Titans are actually pretty cool. Brings back some of that skill aspect since you have healthbar and don't freaking insta-die because of some cheap camper.
