As someone who has had his PC connected to his tv for years I am absolutely excited for this new update to Steam. I've loved using Steam for the last 8 years but one of the things that always bugged be was that is was quite unforgiving in regards to high resolutions on TV screens. Everything always appeared so small (in my experience anyway). Kudos to finally getting on the ball about this issue Valve.

@blue_francis14 Odd, I haven't paid more than $10 for a game on Steam in the last year at least and I have quite a few high-profile games in my library. I have yet to see any of these games even remotely as cheap in store or on other services than I have on Steam. I think you might not be looking for the deals properly.

@Tyreeceholmes You're right that I enjoyed HL2...but the graphics still meant nothing to me. I enjoyed it for the gameplay and the storyline that apparently went over your level of understanding. It's alright that it's not your kind of game but what gives you the right to say it is "a turd" when so many others (including myself) have thoroughly enjoyed it?

"They need to damn near render Avatar in real time, because I want it and gamers want it--even if they don't know they want it."

His arrogance lost my interest at this very point. I've never once bought a game based on it's graphical prowess and I never will...and to put words into the mouths of every gamer out there with such confidence is just arrogant.

For me...not on steam means I'm not buying it unfortunately....glad I don't have to deal with this bug. I hope this gets resolved soon though as I feel for all of you who are affected by this.

"It's weird that [secondhand] is still allowed because it doesn't work like that in any other software industries..." Wait...what? I can enjoy my used (aka secondhand) DVD's and music Cd's all the time yet apparently that isn't considered software according to this Crytek guy. Secondhand is allowed in almost every facet of the software industry. Condemning it outright is just a slap in the face to the average consumer that would rather pay $40 for a 4 hour half-a**ed game than $70 for that same 4 hour half-a**ed game. Not to mention locking games to a specific account on a specific system. just means you can't bring your game over to a buddy's house and play it there anymore. Forces your friend to have to buy the game as well or makes you lug your gigantic system across the distance.

Odd that they say the information for the item was incorrect when the people who beta tested the item beforehand said it worked exactly like they originally described. I know I felt kind of cheated when I finally got the award. I'm just glad I didn't speed things up with simcash. I feel sorry for all those that did and got really screwed.

These Gamespot opinion pieces are just getting ridiculous now. Just openly admit that Gamespot is an affiliate of Microsoft and show the world that you're finally willing to be honest with yourselves and the community. Just get it over with and change the URL to gamespot.xbox.com

@musicallie44 I wasn't aware that popular Blu-ray movies were too expensive @ $10 in this economy. How cheap do you want them to get? The average across Canada is $10-$24.99.
