@shreddyz @ecurl143 $300, and you haven't tried the Rift, I've shown the Oculus Rift to literally 100+ people (gamers, little kids, moms, dads, my grandmother), there wasn't a single person who wasn't completely blown away by the experience (I put them into the room of "Blocked In"). I have a dozen friends who couldn't wait for the consumer version after trying it out at my dorm, so they bought a devkit, another 30 are talking about buying it when it comes out. It has to be seen to believe, you have doubts because you haven't tried it.

@Korvus85 The HMZ T3Q is 380 grams, the Oculus is 220 grams, the Oculus looks large but it's 90% air, the device is hollow. The Oculus uses lenses to bend light in order to create a 3D image that your brain perceives the same way you perceive the desk/computer in front of you, it also uses head tracking software to simulate the movements of your head, it has a 110* field of view which simulates your IRL FOV. The HMZ is NOT a virtual reality device, it is a TV screen you can wear on your head, when you put it on it's like looking at a large TV screen 15 feet in front of you, it doesn't have headtracking, it doesn't have lenses that bend light into a 3D image, the two aren't comparable other than that they are both HMDs. Comparing the two is a logical fallacy as they both preform vastly different functions. I tried both at CES, everyone was blown away by the Oculus, the HMZ was a cool TV screen, but when you hear the price it kills the device.
