Forgive me if this has been talked about (to death) but I swear I can't find information on this particular question of mine. I'm talking specifically about what the Xbox One X will do with games that don't have variable resolution (Halo 5) and aren't getting the enhanced treatment. Basically, every other 360 and Xbox One game.

From my understanding, games will get forced AF, vsync, faster loading times, and games with variable resolution will hit their max res more often/ all the time. But what about games that are 720p. I guess it's not possible for them to be 1080p? Is the AF and faster load times enough to deem it the superior version of the game? I'd like to know before I start replacing some of my multiplats on PS4. I'd be happy to do so especially if I really enjoy the game.

Am I asking this too early?

I know there's going to be a limited edition release with a statue, but wouldn't you think they'd give Horizon it's own custom console as well or not?

Well I'll just tell them to **** off because unless it's a console-centric game I can't enjoy games anymore with lousy frame rates. I'm sorry but I've been a pc gamer for 30yrs and have owned just about every console and was satisfied until they tried competing with PC market with PC-centric games and features. Either come out with a real monster of a console and stand by your claims or go back to old school plug n' play nature with creativity and innovating games. So satisfied until last gen, really. I hope consoles flop altogether to be honest. Perhaps then a hard reset will occur.

What I want to know is will it make games run at 60fps on 1080p tvs? Because I have the last Pioneer Kuro plasma display and have no interest in upgrading it anytime soon. 30fps gives me a headache now that I'm a PC gamer.

Thanks for the advise, but I went on and pre-ordered both games since it was only $6. I have the original versions, and figured this is a low enough price to gamble for a game I really like.

Are these going to be an improvement over the existing PC versions, or simply made for current gen consoles with marginal/if any improvements over what we already have? I seem to recall the original Dead Island on PC had less than stellar textures, so it'd be nice to know that effort will be going into these new remasters on the PC, as well.

Trying to decide if it's worth pre-ordering.

Does the Touro 1TB external 7200rpm drive that everyone boasts about improving performance on the Xbox One work on the 360? I don't mind reformatting it to whatever, just need to know if it works and if so how does the load times compare to the standard drive?

I know that the 360 doesn't support USB 3.0 so logically I would assume that it won't offer increased performance, and possibly even worse at loading games that my 320gb internal (stock) drive. But thought I would ask. I'm seeing the Seagate 2TB game drive at Best Buy and thought to myself..is this going to improve my load times and game experience. I don't really need the exta space, just concerned about performance. If these drives offer at the least the same level of performance then I will buy the Touro and/or that Seagate game drive for no other reason than more storage. But if it's going to hinder gaming at all then I'll pass.

Tbh I dont' get the big deal about having a hundred or so games backwards compatible when all it's going to be are a few of the 'most popular' (ie overhyped mainstream) and dozens of indies. The mid-tier games which make the 'bulk' of the X360's worth (arguably) are probably going to be forever absent and besides..they don't even play off your disk. Don't see how this is helping someone with a huge collection of physical games that don't have the word Halo, Gears, Forza, or Rare in the title, but we'll see. Obviously, I hope I'm proven wrong.

Does it matter if it has a power source or not? These passports from western digital sound nice but will they load games any slower due to not plugging in the wall or is that just my imagination? In other words is there any benefit going with a 7200rpm drive that i can connect ac.

I'd also like to know if there will be a speed difference between using something like that Touro S 7200rpm external vs the new Elite console with the hybrid state drive? I will only have a few games installed at a time and want to make the best of it. I haven't yet bought an Xbox One so I can wait it out for the Elite. I'm thinking that's the case because I've been using a solid state drive on my PC for years now it seems and I'm spoiled by INSTANT loading times. Not seconds but NOW!! I think either option on console won't give me that..but whats the lesser of the evils?
