Hmmmmm....

So, around the industry, we're kind of collectively starting to make choices as to what lead platforms should be on projects, and obviously certain franchises will be reassessed; there aren't any guarantees that a multiplat which focused on lineage A won't focus on successor B. I won't really speak to anymore on this rumor other than to say this - 3rd parties are figuring out which platform they want to lead on right around now. Stories like this one shall become more commonplace within the next 12 months.

Indeed.

This is just one of the few hints that spell out the end of the Xbox division.

@notrolling: you're forgetting the cost of the actual game...

What cost?

Game development budget is mostly the salaries of the employees.

lol Bragging about COD a piece of shit game where Ghosts had teh same exact ending as MW1/2 lol. Does it matter the COD name will sell for all the idiots stupid enough to buy the same rehash game every year. plus cod graphics are garbage lol. They don't even try anymore just look at Ghosts. Last COD game i've played was the first black ops after seeing how piss poor MW3 was.

Titanfall sold around over 700,000 copies at least from what i found articles today on googling it or watever so thats great news considering its on a new console which only came out 5 months ago.

Titanfall did not sell even half that amount.

You got those figures from some fakeboy turd called insiderp who's about as reliable as MisterXMedia.

Microsoft's own words were, "hundreds of thousands", which means somewhere between 200-300k.

@notrolling: No.

Yes.

I run my own semi-successful business.

I may not run a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft, but I know how PR departments work.

I have around 12 branches throughout the US and a total of 55 employees under my wing.

3 of them work in the PR department in my company. One of the most common ways of advertising products to consumers is to show them sales statistics. We don't give them exact sales numbers, but if one of our products sells more than 500,000, we ALWAYS say "more than half a million bought XXX" instead of "hundreds of thousands".

Infamous SS cost nearly 100 million dollars to produce?

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101495951?__source=yahoo%7Cfinance%7Cheadline%7Cheadline%7Cstory&par=yahoo&doc=101495951%7CSony%20dropped%20big%20bucks%20on

Bullshit. SP only has around 80 employees.

Assuming the average salary of the 80 employees is 80k, SONY would have to spend $6.4 million for their salaries.

Add rent, which should be a couple million per year. SS took 2 years to make, so that pushes it up to $10.4 million.

Voice actors shouldn't cost that much - Maybe 500k in total. That's $10.9 million.

......there was 400k pre orders for titanfall I think that's us alone. Not sure but your way off on 200k-300k

Yeah, bullshit numbers from insiderp.

Microsoft said themselves that "hundreds of thousands of players have played titanfall so far", meaning it sold 100-300k.

If it were 400k, they'd say "almost half a million". If it were 500k, they'd say "half a million". If it were above 500k, they'd say "more than half a million".

You must not understand how PR departments work. Titanfall only sold a meager 300k.

haha they have been defeated by the new king of online multiplayer TITANFALL BABY and they run off to PS4 hahaha

keep COD, it might as well be a PS4 exclusive for all i care....game is shite compared to Titanfall

You're not understanding the symbolic significance of this move, nor do you understand how the sales disaster of titanflop is going to damage MS and the Xbone.

Titanfall was advertised like no other game before. I wouldn't be surprised if the money spent advertising titanfall was bigger than the development and advertising budget of every single game from 1950-2013 combined. Despite the monstrous budget, titanfall only managed to sell a pitiful 200-300k units on the Xbone. Do you think other publishers and 3rd party studios aren't taking note? They're observing this carefully. Assuming that the people running these companies have any ounce of intelligence, they'd probably NEVER accept exclusivity deals with Microsoft.

At least with SONY, SONY had Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Polyphony, and Media Molecule. The only thing MS has is 343i, and they're worse than SONY's worst 1st party studio. Microsoft will have the worst 1st party games, no 3rd party exclusives, the worst multiplats, and the worst OS.

This could be it for Xbox*.

Totally forgot about the sticky lol. Wupz

• 11,000: Number of ‘ashbit’ particles Delsin shatters into during a single smoke dash through the air. Each particle is individually textured (including the custom jacket!), before reforming!

• 75: Number of high-resolution scanned poses of Troy Baker’s face that were needed to train our performance capture system to produce Delsin’s facial animations. Troy had 168 tracked markers placed on his face and his head mesh resulted in 22,321 separate vertices (not counting his eyes, lashes, or beanie) that were used for various in-game animations.

• 32 machines are used in the render farmthat computed all the reflected/ambient lighting in the game.

• Each rain drop is considered a particle and there are over 30,000 of them.

• There are 1,024 sound variations of the smoke bolt. It will rarely sound the same twice.

• Adaptive Ambient System enables each district to have its own atmosphere that conforms to the time of day, type of weather, and if the DUP controls it or if Delsin has freed it.

The Xbone would have trouble just rendering the rain.

How did MS engineer such a clusterfuck?
