Bloodborme is too short, DS3 is still overall the better game, even if not by much and even if it feels less fresh than BB (BB's first big areas were epic though!.., still overall DS3 is the more epic)

as for BB vs. Nioh

BB > Nioh (just BB is way shorter)

Dark Souls 3 is a masterpiece..., but Nioh does a few things better and is beginner friendlier.. (and has the deeper / more complex action system).., still if either DS3 or Nioh => go DS3..., but give Nioh a chance too at sometime later, it's still special..

(but "Bound by Flame" on very hard and "Technomancee" on hard are imo just as good as Nioh.., just have other strengths like better Story/characters and counter moves..but not such deep action)

I'll cry if the Switch version has (slight) better effects here and there, but the Wii U version has a (slight) better framrate here and there..., I'll then probably be getting the Wii U Version..

(if they're identical, than the Switch version needs to come out a bit earlier. .. like with Zelda TP back then, or it will impact the Switch release sales)

am excited too, but don't think it will be the game of the year , because metal gear solid 5 will mostly take it , i personally want witcher 3 to win the game of the year because it delivers a lot better story than mgs5 , and definitely have better graphics than fallout 4 and a perfectly balanced game play . but over all it doesn't stand a chance against these two games .

dont think that games should win because of the story or cinematics .. but TW3 is an exception, since CD Projekt RED deserve GOTY for their great work on each game/each TW so far... but so does From Software for Bloodborne and DS franchise...

(Bethesda and Fallout are know well enough and have gotten enough GOTYs.., for them to win it again, they should make something extraordinary again..., even F4 goes close in that department, the jump still doesn't feel that big to F3/FNV)

with the new 3.1 patch update, Heavenward (add-on for FFXIV) has just underlined its postion as the new "WOW".. and the new duties look gorgeous (again)...

MMO's need (a lot !) time too build up a good character, to get deep into the endgame and have time for static raid groups.., if you're a serious MMO player, then one (or the only) MMO should be FFXIV

(and thats coming from someone, who didnt like most 3D FFs and hated FFXIII..)

like last year, RPGs will probably be the biggest GOTY candidates.. (last year, DS2 and DA Inquisition where the best, even if both had some faults... this year, Bloodborne, TW3 and F4.. and possibly Xeno 2)

if neither Batman nor Halo 5 win GOTY, expect a RPG to win it

(yes, Halo 5 should be nominated.. , even though H5 probably wont win GOTY, its still epical when played on veteran or legendary)

my only concern is, that F4 might feel a bit too similar (and so far not as big) as F3/FNV... (but im still near the beginning, so it can stil "grow"), when comparing Bloodborne to DS and TW3 to TW2, they had like bigger jumps than F3/FNV to F4 so far..

the Hype is real!!

started it yesterday

first off, the atmosphere is great again, the shades/lighting of colors (when outside) contribute perfectly like they did in F3/NV, but with much more flavour this time... (was afraid it might lose some of its atmosphere after the first pics, loved the green/brown color shades of F3/NV)

my first real action/duels, when trying to survive a lone gunsman and his dog (back area of the home town, opposite-ish from the bridge), is tens and exactly how it should be on the "survival" setting...

=>=>=> play this on the highest setting "survival"!!!.. even if you might die a bit, just save often... , besides the highest setting "survival" feels easier than F3/FN or Skyrim.. wont be surprised if they add a more difficult one later on like they did with Skyrim)

eventhough it starts off a bit too much like F3/NV from the overall feeling (even if more gorgeous), and the OST feels so far a bit too familiar too and not yet as epical (better tracks might still come) => the game(play) and atmosphere still feel epical during its start!!

edit: anyone who played F3/FNV or Skyrim and does not feel the Hype, either didnt play it far enough or didnt play it on the highest setting (intensifying the atmosphere and survival gameplay feeling up to dark souls level, but with besides epical duels also epical stealth parts...)

Dragon Age imo didnt have much of an gameplay (and especially not atmosphere/tension) increase on the highest setting.., but it was a tad to simple on normal too after a while (went on hard)

@ Darksouls, ment the default setting of course;)

..

there are not many designers, on which the highest gameplay difficult setting are so well balanced and shift the gameplay (and tension) so well as with Bethesdas.. , once you get into F4 give it a try to survive on the highest (will need a approach change, but once you get the hang of it, its very rewarding and tens... besides you can save anywhere /anytime)

but like many "dark"-ish (or Horror/Survival) games, playing it on a higher (or highest) setting increases the fear of death and therefore the tension (.. an "easy" horror/survival*-ish game just doest really work.. unless youre only after arcace-ish splatter fun, but that would ruin some of the best horror/survivial games )

Halo games (since the 360) are also imo best on either veteran or legendary for the first walkthru (well balanced on higher/highest settings, and the gameplay shifts too.. you sniper more and have these "cat & mouse" duels etc etc... . , while on normal you just kind of run thru it)

Bioware games dont really feel better on the highest either (but can fell a bit too easy after a while on normal), ...on the otherhand Japanese games or often (way) too hard on higher settings for the first runthru (just whish pokemon would be a tad more challenging on normal... like the very first experience back then)

oh really?... (didnt occur to me^^...)

lol.., pointing out to players who might just stick to normal out of habit (or fear), that Bethesda games often have the best gameplay on the highest setting (well. balanced and once used to the mechanics, not frustrating like other games can be on the highest setting).

and especially a game with such an tens atmosphere, it really works perfectly on the highest setting.. (just need to get used to the gameplay difference on the highest, it plays a bit different, need to flee more often and regroup or then stealth to survive... or pick out single enemies from a group, to lower their numbers etc...)

just like F3/NV, Skyrim and Dishonred, they become full epic on the highest setting (they were like made to be played like that)

but sure, if youre not a rpg/action veteran, the highest might not be for you.. but think most gamespot users are veterans, and the highest setting on most Bethesda games isnt that hard compared too other games like the Witcher 3 on the hardest or even Darksouls on the standard setting
