@GunEye: According to Gamespot, all signs point to Rage 2 being the E3 announcement from Bethesda, not a new elder scrolls game.

@terpriders: Consoles will never be as powerful as PCs... not for a day, and definitely not for 6 months. Consoles license hardware (CPU/GPU) years (3 plus) before the console actually hits the market. This is done so development and testing can begin way before a system launches, and so developers have a chance to take advantage of the hardware before launch, so content is immediately available to the consumer. As such, by the time a console launches, the hardware, which was already a scaled down and cheaper version of current hardware at the time of licensing, is now 2-3 full generations behind the mid-range PC equivalent. This is a fundamentally insurmountable problem that cannot be overcome.

@sellingthings: 3D was around for a long time, but not even close to a mainstream thing, prior to Avatar. Perhaps you've forgotten that there weren't any 3D movies in theaters when Avatar was released. Back then, if you wanted to see 3D, you needed to go to a museum or theme park. After Avatar was released, the flood gates opened and every 3rd film released was now showing in both 2D and 3D. Yes, large format film was around before Avatar, but Avatar wasn't filmed in large format. Avatar isn't a traditional IMAX movie, but rather a completely digital movie that was shot with a brand new (at the time) all digital 3D IMAX camera. Avatar is filmed in wide format 1080p. Why bring this up? Becuase in truth, Avatar's visual fidelity doesn't stand up even now, to a real large format film (what you call IMAX) from 50 years ago.

@clonitza That's just silly. I'm playing this at 1920x1200 on a GTX 680 and the graphics, especially in the larger towns, are mind-blowing. Every texture just blows Skyrim, even with a ton of mods, out of the water, all the while using less GPU and CPU resources.

Fallout 3 is probably my favorite game of all time. I certainly hope Bethesda does the right thing and sates this hunger for more Fallout that's consuming me.
