I'm with you on maybe Battle Mode and the characters (too many babies) but all your other points are laughable.

I really liked it. The hypernova sections were surprisingly fun. I don't usually get the collectibles in platformers but wound up getting the 100 Sun Stones.

The Kirby fighters minigame is also really good. Has me stoked for Smash Bros 4 on 3DS.

I've been doing pretty well using the medium-heavy characters. The heaviest ones have the highest top speed but they don't handle as well and have lower acceleration.

The lightweights are really good if you're constantly getting hit with items since you get up to speed much faster. The problem is once you've gotten the lead, the lower top speed means that the faster characters can catch up really quick. Also, if you fall behind too much, it'll be really tough to catch up to the faster guys.

I've preordered X, Bayo 2 and Smash for Wii U and Pokemon ORAS and Smash for 3DS. (Wii U games ~$45 and ~$31 for the 3DS games)

Still not sold on PS4/XB1 so I might not have much more to order outside of new Nintendo announcements.

Just played my first cup of MK8. What a beautiful looking game!

Two annoying things i've noticed so far:

Why the heck is there a coin item, so useless!

Why is 'View highlight reel' the default button after each race? Next Race and View Results (after the 4th race) should be the top-most button.

Sweet, guess i'll jump into 100cc then.

Even 150cc starts to feel "slow" once you get used to it. After that, 50cc seems like a complete joke. :P

I can't wait to get into the MK8 action tonight.

Is it necessary to do complete all the CC's in order to get unlockables or can I just skip 50/100 and jump straight into 150cc?

The speed boost for bumping into people is ONLY in anti-gravity sections.
