@sladakrobot: I have no idea. Possibly during its launch, but I seriously doubt it's got more total hours played than games that have been out for years or decades.

Where did you see that Starfield (or BG3) was the most played game, and what's the content for that title?

Can definitely recommend the Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny RPG. The Genysis rules system is about as easy to learn and run as 5e D&D, but allows for a lot more mechanical crunchiness, and even more ways to tie thematic and story hooks into the dice rolling.

And, if you don't care for Star Wars, Genysis has a couple of generic core rulebooks that you can plug any theme and setting you want into and play.

@fbplayer1086: I'd be okay with more bespoke planets of the size they've got now (if they give us a frickin' vehicle to explore them with) that you stumble upon by warping around to unexplored systems. I'm never going to like that space flight is just a series of fast travel teleports, but that galaxy map is big enough I think they could hide a lot of cool stuff in it. They just need to make said cool stuff.

@sladakrobot: What do you mean by, "it's the most played game"? Most played game on a specific platform? From Bethesda? Ever?

@Slannmage: Why was Civ 6 crap? I played a bit of it and don't remember anything bad about it.

@davidb50100: Starfield's problems didn't seem like they came from a lack of resources, just a lack of imagination and continued reliance on ancient tech. Starfield was Bethesda's most polished launch by a country mile, it was just boring to play.

Maybe Starfield will be something worth coming back to in a year or two. It's not like it CAN'T be fixed, or even that there aren't some good ideas there worth fixing the game for, it just needs a lot of rethinking and redesigning so it isn't incredibly dull so much of the time.

@cherub1000: If your build relied on seasonal content, then yeah, I think you'd want to respec post-season. Though, I haven't actually made a ton of use out of the seasonal perks. They've all been nice bonuses, but nothing that defined a build.

Like, this season, all the new powers and perks are for a special pet everybody gets, so when it leaves, I don't think my Sorcerer is going to change the way he plays at all. He just won't have the fire support.

@drdavewatford: That's true, but for me personally, I'd rather play what I want to play when I want to play it than save $20 or $30 over six to twelve months.

Eventually I hope Microsoft leverages all those studios they own to the point they're putting out several first party bangers a year. That would make Game Pass a no brainer.
