One big downer for me - you can't use your old save. I found it very hard to complete on my PS4.PRO, but did eventually. Some upgrades let you use your previous gen save file. Ah well, back to the drawing board.
@hg10: I agree with you on this one. I've always been a huge VF fan but it's going to be tough to gain new followers for this title. TBH, VF shone when the second game came out in arcades & ultimately converted to Sega Saturn. BTW, as far as retro stages are concerned, I can only find one.
@videogameninja: hear hear! Been a VF fan since release. I remember when I first bought VF2 from my local CEX. Really glad about this ultimate showdown version with improved visuals.
TBH, I really like the machine. I do have a wide taste in games despite being rather fussy for the past few years, but I actually do like the machine. I've only had it for a few days so I'm still learning it while my PS4 takes a PLAYcation, lol. I'm sure the best is yet to come as far as software is concerned so meanwhile, we can enjoy playing enhanced versions of our old PS4 games. Let's welcome this new update & see how it goes. If there's one negative I'll mention, that'll be the price of new PS5 games - £69.99. I'm waiting for payday to download Demon's Souls & I suspect I'll only buy one a month, depending on if the games match my taste.
@justthetip: well the false advertising is rather a stupid move, yes, because at the end of the day, this is what happens. I think it's the old man in me trying to see past it but you're absolutely right, there is no excuse for this. I remember something similar to this with ps4 killzone 2 running on pc hardware in a trailer. Ah well. ☹
@Thanatos2k: oh don't get me wrong, I agree with you. Mine was just a thought really, but yes, they should've got this title running properly on both current gen platforms. I'm particularly annoyed that all the trailers weren't running on PS4 or xbox so I kinda feel cheated. Anyway, I'm gonna be playing Cloudpunk & Hard Reset: Redux for my cyberpunk fix, lol.
@Thanatos2k: I'm just wondering - maybe the devs gave up on getting this one tip top for ps4 & are just waiting to make it awesome once people upgrade to the ps5 version...just a thought. 🤔
@justthetip: mine crashed once, but the bugs are annoying. I had to reset my save because I was moving like in treacle but not overencumbered. Once reset, it was fine but I keep having to go back into options to reverse my Y-axis look. Oh I've seen people floating after you've shot them, etc. Shame as I was really looking forward to this one. I feel bad for the devs though, after all their hard work & dev time - in the end it just hasn't worked out for them. ☹
I'm not good at fast & precise games, especially fast paced 1st person platformers. I do really like, however, a ps4 & xbox one game called Hard Reset: Redux. It's got both gunplay & sword slashing & it's set in a pure cyberpunk city. You can also play it as slow as you want as it's not frustrating. Brilliant visuals too! 😁👍🎮
This demo really does give you a genuine sense of dread when you play it, & I've watched countless scary films & played loads of scary games, but this one is truly the most frightening I've tried - beating even Outlast in the scare factor. This reminds me of the odd scary dream I had as a kid, about being stuck in my house at night with no lights working....& that woman who creeps up on you & grins like that - it made me scream!
Roll on Silent Hill(s), this is how to make a horror game!
