Well is very simple to understand why they chose the 3ds as the platform. This game may nob be release in the west at least will take a long time to get here. as the user base in japan we have this numbers ( ign list):
Nintendo DS - 32,855,741 sold since December 02, 2004
PlayStation Portable - 18,737,441 sold since December 12, 2004
Nintendo Wii - 12,433,321 sold since December 02, 2006
PlayStation 3 - 8,112,613 sold since November 11, 2006
Nintendo 3DS - 6,355,287 sold since February 26, 2011
Microsoft Xbox 360 - 1,554,547 sold since December 10, 2005
PlayStation Vita - 756,451 sold since December 17, 2011
So the only console that have a very bigger user base than 3ds is the wii, the ps3 has only 1.8 million more users,. Now if you consider the costs for a ps3 game and the costs for a 3ds game, is a no brainer why they chose the 3ds for the exclusive platform.
@Aria1368 I agree with you, if there is a game that really will show all the power of the Wii U is Battlefield 3, specially if they have 64 players map for multiplayer and all the visuals currently on the PC.
@milky3 Is almost impossible for the Wii U at least 3x better than 360 and ps3. Just because they use very old tech. all the rumours tech about the Wii U never provided information that Wii U would use an old tech such as used on those 2 consoles. Probably it will not look much better for a while just because most of the engines are designed to take the most out of 360 and ps3, even pc games that is multiplataform does not look that much better than the console even though the pc hardware is 24x more powerful.
