@kkxtrouble @WolfGrey @J_Dangerously Because it's not just how much money you invest but how you invest it.

@Laguniroth ah a fellow cynic. Refreshing to see you here. Though actually I feel GW2 deserves a high score. It's when scores go above 9 that I seriously wonder about the financial incentives. 9 seems a reasonable score for an MMO that launched with a lot of features that other games in the genre only add months later. Why so many other games get the same or higher scores... eh. People have argued over that in this comment section already.

@Poodger @Falru Maybe you were thinking "I wonder if they'll make Skritt a playable race..." ?

@Poodger @edinko Though I sure wish sometimes I could fight the Metrica Provice Fire Elemental at my actual level. Then I could have justice.

@Poodger @edinko As Poodger says, there is the bonus of going back. I can play with a real life friend in the starter zone now that he started, for example. And yes you unlock traits and more skills. It's a different experience fighting an enemy with just your weapon and you heal and then fighting them with all your skills and advantages gained through traits.

@edinko Though of course it may sound nicer in my version than in reality. Someone else will have to e the judge of that :)

I think what most reviews can not really show is the learning curve. At first I wasn't swapping weapons much during combat. So yes, my warrior has a greatsword as one set and a longbow as the other. Pretty straight forward; there are situations you want to be melee and situations you want to be ranged. But the fact that you may want to swap to the other set because you want to use just a couple of attacks from that and then swap back, that only now has started entering my tactics. Though more with my necromancer where I want to debuff enemies with my staff but dps and life leach with my daggers.

Or running away with my warrior by whirlwinding with my greatsword, then slowing the enemy with my longbow... I still die a lot though so that may not yet be working as well as I try to make it sound.

@Volgin @cerealzateu @buckxn Eh, regarding the story not everyone is all that impressed. I was extrremly disappointed. Loved the prologue of my smuggler and agent, loved chapter one for the smuggler. Absolutely hated the later smuggler chapters and am now dreading the agent story.

The Jedi Consular story has gotten a lot of flak from otehrs, but I cant judge as I didn't enjoy the starting planet for Jedi enough to get past it ;)

Sith Inquisitor seems ok (other than some problems with twilek characters as the story was written before those were made possible) as far as I saw it.

@edinko No, it turns out you don't really need more. I used to have multiple skill bars in other MMOs but am not feeling constrained in GW2 at all. Also this is a PC game, not a consol game, so for once the apparent simplicity is not the result of a poor port.

The "10 slots" is a bit desceptive in reality. My warrior uses two weapon sets he can swap during combat. That means not 10 but 15 skills. Also the "burst skill" warriors have bound to F1 changes with those, making it 17. Still not 40, but more than 10.

Elementalists can change elemental attunement, changing their first 5 skills. At four elements that means they have 4x5+5= 25 skills during combat.

A necromancer, wtih weapon swapping and the death shroud ability come to 5x2+5+4 (death shroud skills) 19 skills total.

(my math can of course be off somewhere ;) )

@cheesedumpling @melkathi @Falru Well, my necromancer can change between sets in combat just fine. But I just checked the Skill Tool and indeed for Elementalist and Engineer it does not have a "swap" symbol. So it seems those are the only two professions that can't do so during combat.
