[QUOTE="LOEAnubis"]

I have two questions.

First, I would like to know how the simulation plays out, if you have had a chance to go through it? When playing a baseball sim I always play the first two games of a series and if I won I would sim the third. MVP '04 and '05 usually the sim was similar to my games in terms of score and player performance. With the 2K series, I found that the simulation could range from a shutout by a third or fourth rotational pitcher, to 18 - 16 games. Really I'm just asking if the stats are comparable to a team, or are they all over the place?

Second, did they fix the fantasy draft? I never found an option to turn off the individual team salary caps. I'm a Pirates fan and didn't realize that this was a part of the draft and after two good players (Oswalt and Texeria) I was stuck drafting AAA and below players due to spending 90% of my salary cap on two good players... needless to say it was not a fun season.

Thanks in advance Brian! Hopefully these weren't too specific. ;)

1) Simming seems decent so far. A good variety of game scores, of nothing else. 2) I'll have to check on this one...

Does it still have the terrible frame-rate problems that the other games in the series have?_Pinbot_
Well this is still a work-in-progress build but the FR seems better than when I saw it a few weeks ago. Some hitches when the camera moves quickly but otherwise pretty decent.

What have you (2K) done to make the pitching easier? I have struggled emensly with pitching in the last two games.mjwickstrom1
Well, I'm not 2K. I'm GameSpot. Pitching is better this year. You can read all about it in my last hands-on with the game: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/majorleaguebaseball2k9/news.html?sid=6203711

So I've done this with other sports games in the past and it's worked out pretty well. 2K Sports sent us a preview build of MLB 2K9 and I've been playing it since yesterday. If you've got questions about the game, put them in this thread and I'll do my best to answer them. Can't promise I'll get to each and every question but I'll do my very best. Also note that this not final code and there still might be some changes down the road.

That said: Whaddya wanna know?

Thanks for thinking of the podcast. As I wrote on the GS Sports blog, FtB is on indefinite hiatus. I'll let you know if anything changes on that front.

As always I'll be sharing my thoughts on sports and sports gaming on the sports blog. Why, just yesterday I invited the GMAC Bowl to kiss it.

Just a quick note that today's episode of our weekly sports podcast, From the Bleachers, features a great in-depth interview with Sean O'Brien and Connor Dougan, producers on EA Sports' upcoming NCAA Basketball 09. In addition to fielding some tough questions about their game, the pair also drop some knowledge on the boundaries and capabilities of this generation of sports games (and the consoles that play them). They even manage to work in a couple of hints about another EA Canada-developed game, Fight Night Round 4. All of that, plus details on the upcoming NCAA 09 demo... needless to say, it's a great interview and required listening for hoops fans.

Interested in joining up in the NHL 09 EASHL league but can't find a club? The Xnmnk Mockobckars are here for you!

I just created the oddly named EASHL club team above and will invite any and everyone who's willing to play. Let me know in the comments or send me a note via XBL (my tag is BBReBozo) and I'll hook you up with the invite.

I'm a little bit disappointed in the jersey selection--you can't design your own and can only choose from actual jerseys (though to be fair there are a bunch of non-NHL designs to choose from). I'm also a little bit disappointed with my choice of team names. But that's nobody's fault but mine.
