This only happens to me when I remove and replace the SD card. I beleave it is some sort of anti piracy program that is scanning the sd card and makes the system take about 5 times longer then normal to boot,

Only happens when i replace the card, or the battery runs dry.

i thought i read somewhere that an overclocked i7 2600k gets similar performance to a 9xx intel cpu? (aka intel's $1000 dollar CPU)

If its just for audio you dont need that powerful of a CPU honestly. its just audio its not like your rendering out 3D.

hofuldig

Ever try running 10+ additive synths and 128 samples and 30+ effects with less then 10 ms of latency? ever try doing half that and not having every thing turn into a clipping mess?

ever try encodeing and rendering a 10 minute long wav at 32 bits?

The amount of math involved in the effects and synths is staggering. This is the first cpu i have had that allows me to play live layers with almost no latency, pre rendering and playing back samples stifles creativity and work flow so much... now i can record the midi and have every thing running live, go record some more midi,

Its needed.

"Even on my 52 inch monitor every thing is silky smooth at 120 fps on every game almost all the time."

That statement is drastically different then you now saying "on the games I listed it does".

I left out 2 word... And because i listed games right before that, logical thinking would determin that i dont know how well a game i dont play would run on my comp

jedikevin2

So now you are acknowledging that every game will not run 120fps. As others have pointed out, even one of the 3 games you pointed out, crysis 2, will not run at 120 fps maxxed out, especially with the rest of the graphical features released. It will be hard for anyone to attempt you help you out when you have already made false claims in the forum and sole intent earlier was to start some argument with your earlier thread.

You are giving me a massive headache.

I never said i could run other games mentioned in that thread by other people at that because i have no idea how they run, I dont play them, I LISTED GAMES. THOSE GAMES I.E EVERY GAME I HAVE RUNS AROUND 120 MAX SETTINGS. THEN I ADDED WITCHER 2 AND IT RUNS AROUND 50-60 FPS,

IS IT THAT HARD TO GRASP?

I dont need a super high end graphics card, The main purpose of this pc is my digital audio workstation, thus the beefy CPU.

And I dont get why you people are skepticle about that. sereously, are you mad that you overpaied for your cards even though i get great proformance out of my 250$ card?? grow up guys,,,,

No one is being skeptical when what you said in your other thread could be realized as completely untrue.. a 9800gtx+ which is a slightly lower speed gts 250 would not be running at 120 FPS on MAX settings at 1080p on many many many games. You would still get good performance but no way that good.

On the games i listed it dose, Witcher 2 is the first game i have had in a long time that I cant max at a very high frame rate,

I cleaned off all the compound and re applyed, made sure the screws where all down tight in order, and now I am running, but it is much hotter then my norms, but with in acceptable limits,

40-45 idle. 50-75 at 100% for 2 minutes,

no more alarms going off, but my fan controler now reports a much lower temp then windows and my bios, I dont know what one to trust so ill stick with the highest to be safe.
