@al89lan: The Dreamcast and PS2 launch titles are legendary. You picked some good ones. My buddy picked up Eternal Ring and Tekken Tag Tournament, and I was only moderately nervous because I had picked up Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure launch titles for the Dreamcast...

I find it odd this niche device (TG16 media) for a niche audience (retro gamers) is a thing. Given Analog's [limited] stock history, it'll also appeal to collectors. My TurboDuo is still hooked up and running, so I'll skipping this, but it's a nice (albeit overpriced) alternative. This is primarily for those who probably already own a TG16.

@Dragon_Nexus: Given that I found out about its finite existence after posting my comment, I'm inclined to agree. To Nintendo, the collection is nothing more than a mere cash-grab that also doubles as an appropriate way to celebrate the plumber's 35th. Fans and collectors alike are buying in.

Nintendo will probably add Galaxy 2 as DLC. The original All-Stars eventually included World in 1995 ("Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World"), so we might get something like "Super Mario 3D All-Stars + Super Mario Galaxy 2".

@wolfpup7: By my logic, yes, that's about right. But speaking pragmatically, no. :P

@BlueFlameBat: Huh, yeah, that's an interesting point. Maybe Analog will consider an attachment in the future, given the TurboExpress is a legitimate handheld. I'm really happy about Lynx compatibility, though. Almost all the games are still cheap to buy, and there are a number of must-plays. My Lynx II is great and still holds up, but it's too damn big.

@Sound_Demon: I played FFXIII on day one and really disliked it. It took me years to muster up and finish it because I was resistant to how the game wanted me to play it.

But once I submitted, I ended up appreciating just about every aspect of the game. The linearity is no issue to me, and the combat system, music, and graphical and cinematic polish lend themselves to a fantastic product. It's now one of my top FF games in the franchise.

I have only three major complaints: a convoluted plot, occasionally annoying and cookie-cutter cast (that does eventually mature, thankfully), and difficulty spikes that may lead to grind fests and disdain for the game's constraints.

Although old and delivered well after the release of the game, this review is extremely misguided. Last Bronx shares the same control mechanics and graphics engine as VF2, but it's an entirely separate game in its own right, showcasing a great variety of stages; stellar fighting tunes; unique characters replete with their own backstories that fit into the interesting story; extremely tight, fast controls (thanks to VF2); good-looking graphics (despite the clipping/flickering present in other Saturn and PS1 games at the time); and a thematic concept that's grounded in more realism than its weapons-based contemporaries at the time, Soul Blade and Mace: The Dark Age.

Weapons aren't just an extension of a punch or kick in, say, VF2; they actually deliver a lot of damage, depending on the weapon/character and combo issued. Last Bronx and VF2 are separate and unique. This game is distinct from but nonetheless inspired by other fantastic fighters at the time, like VF2 and Samurai Shodown.

Mr. MacDonald's review is downright silly.

I'd add Chrono Cross and Planescape to this list.

@fecalmatters: I'm in the minority who think Silver Star Harmony is the definitive experience of the game. The core story's a classic.
