Sony was supposed to integrate the Cell processor into fridges and stoves and toasters and coffee makers and have them all work in tandem to help boost the processing power of the PS3. There was a heavy amount of marketing done at the beginning of the PS3's lifespan, from 'every game will be in Full 1080p HD' to features that were included and later trimmed. Games don't look bad by any stretch of the imagination but they are nowhere near what was promised. And that's fine - every company does that.DJ_Lae

Really?

GOW3, Uncharted 2....Killzone 3 I think they are utilizing the heck out of the cell. Multiplat games won't becuase they need equal releases across consoles. Plus, it saves time and money not having to optimize performance for the best possible looking game on the PS3.nightshade869

uncharted 2 utilised it for graphics more than gameplay? I mean did you see that footage of the warhawk singleplayer, the gameplay looked epic

So was watching this video earlier, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVXmj0lJzoI, and realised that not many games have lived up to what the cell processor is capable of. Why has the processor been so underutilised, or am I not playing the right games?

So we all remember when San Andreas came out on PS2, arguably one of the best games of that generation, and it spent much time in everyones' consoles but when do you think the PS3 will see its 'san andreas' game (i don't literally mean san andreas, i mean a game of that calibre), or do you think its 'san andreas' game has already come out and if so what. I thought gran turismo 5 would be it, but couldn't help but feel it was just boring imo, and thought that uncharted 2's graphics were prasised more than it's mediocre gameplay.

So as the topic title says I'm going to get myself a PS3. Thing is the new slim models look like ****. No BC, no shiney polish, no ability to upgrade HDD, less USB slots, push butons instead of touch buttons...is there any reason at all why I would want to buy a new PS3 over a used 60GB model? Like, did the original 60GB model have any hardware issues I need to be aware of when searching for used consoles?

Also, does the PS3 have any VGA cables that I can buy? Or are my only choices the composite cables and HDMI cables?

Get the Slim! My 60gb has cost me roughly £2,000 in maintenance costs. i currently have it in the garden in a special air conditioned box which i partly built myself (although not everyone will go to such extremes to protect their ps3s)

OK so i think i've managed to escape ylod temporarily (long story). I've managed to turn on my ps3 nd have have pressed restore system settings. How long does this take. It's been going for about 10 mins now...

To sum up how long does it take to restore system settings?

-Need an urgent reply, thanks in advance
