I agree with Carolyn's perspective on the Dragon's Crown topic. I think the whole situation stinks.

Here are some words I wrote on the topic yesterday: http://kevinpennyfeather.com/2013/04/23/kotaku-jason-shreier-and-sexism/

I like this show a lot, but as I've mentioned a few times from the beginning: I'd love to have an audio only podcast release of each show.

If it's an ad revenue thing I understand. Otherwise, get this shit on iTunes! :D

At this point in my life, I'm not sure I would be able to hold a discussion to this extent while intelligently defending my point. This is the reason I cherish the best workers in journalism and PR.Whether it's Tom McShea, trying to discuss alternative methods of ingame experience conveyance, or its Greg Goodrich, energetically declaring his opinion on the idea that his methods are as good as they can ever get right now. It's so awesome.I feel that while these game modes for fun, will have a place in the games we play for a long time to come, It's important that some high profile developer out there makes a stand and presents us with more that a fun experience, but an engaging one as well.

Earlier I heard the Sound shapes developer say that he thinks indies could blossom and become the new AAA area of the industry. While his comment could be dissected in many ways, it definitely threw an interesting idea into my head: The idea that, at the very least, we could get back some truly refreshing ideas at the forefront of the industry. I am okay with where things are right now, but I'm also ready and awaiting the scales to balance out a bit more. I don't want new ideas (potentially non-violent ones) to be restricted to small indie games that I can only talk about with my "core" gamer friends. I'd love to have a discussion about games with my other friends/family that extends beyond, Dance and fitness games.

I love to see Studios play to their strength when developing these new IPs. I'm sure some very smart people at these companies have realized that it is the best way to go about creating something new while still projecting a profit.

However, I still miss the huge shocks that I used to feel when a completely mind boggling new idea was presented in a game. Maybe I've just become desensitized over the years? Oh well, it doesn't matter! I look forward to playing these games in the coming moths/years. @legokid3000

@Death_Masta187 Good call I completely forgot to consider the orange box tie-ins in the pricing. I'm hopin' for DLC as well, but yea, that a big hope.

@Death_Masta187 I can understand where you are coming from, but when I look to similar games like TF2, lack of maps never seamed to be a problem. People play the same map over and over again, and it's fresh every time! I mean by all means, vote with your wallet. If that's what you think it's worth then make sure you let them know. But I for one don't have an issue spending 50-60 dollars on 8 maps. Think of it like this: there are some people that only play one playlist in their favorite MP shooters(Halo, COD etc.) and that one playlist may only have 4-8 maps in it!
