Did you guys notice how theverge has turned off their comments? They blamed GG for it along with how toxic everything was getting.

@Warlord_Irochi: When this started GG could have easily openly state that they are against this kind of activities and that those people do not represent them in any way. Instead of that, they remain silent (or the message was so small that it didn't reach most of us).

The biggest problem was that most people unfamiliar with the whole situation were relying on TheVerge, Polygon, etc. for any and all information about gamergate. Those websites dictated the message and its direction. So you say that they, gamergate, remained silent or the voice was too small, but i don't believe that was the case. Unfortunately, you just had to know where to look.

@toast_burner: Ok, maybe i'm misunderstanding then, so it's people claiming games cause violence?

i've seen people use this as a source.

@The_Last_Ride: Me neither but i thought it was interesting since he wanted an example, and i was able to find one on Anita's Wikipedia page of all places.

@toast_burner: Hey, you just asked for an example. I gave you one. I don't think you are being genuine when you asked for this evidence anyway. It doesn't matter what we show you. Nothings gonna change your mind anyway.

Literally none of that has anything to do with your claim that people are saying video games cause violence.

sexual violence aka transphobia and mysogyni they're accusing GG of... These images do exactly that, and Anita actually said that games have an huge effect on people. "The less you think you can be affected, the more likely you are."

ok let me put this clearly. Where do they claim that video games cause violence?

Saying they accuse GG of stuff is irrelevant as GG is not video games (can't believe I actually need to explain that). Saying lots of gamers are sexist is not the same as saying games cause sexism. And from your pictures they aren't even talking about gamers, they're talking about gamergate.

The Salt Lake Tribune wrote that the threats "would seem to support Sarkeesian’s point about a link between some video games and violent attitudes toward females"

quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Sarkeesian

Anyone saying censoring topics on boards and sites isn't "censorship" don't know the definition:

Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication or other information which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient as determined by governments, media outlets, authorities or other groups or institutions."

GamerGate is being censored, so was Batfgirls cover and pointing this out and ignoring it is ignorant

So if you break into my house and start yelling about how aliens control the banks, and I tell you to shut up and get out my house, is that censorship?

Websites are private property.

How is commenting on a website similar to breaking into someones house? That's a terrible analogy. I think a better analogy would be if you had a group of people that would come over to your house every month, and you told them they couldn't talk about certain topics.
