@zmanbarzel: Ok, but why are they being treated as if they represent the majority of gamers? And if i'm right and they only represent just the minority, then these type of articles do nothing but give them a platform and further push them into victim status. My opinion is that the media and a lot of these game journalist are simply taking advantage of this situation for clicks.
@Xirtahm: Im trying to find a way to explain this to you...that makes sense.
Those NES era games were ported over to work on the wii. So, in theory, just because you own the cartridge to Zelda doesn't mean you now own the digital copy for the wii. Why? because that digital copy is considered a separate product from the cartridge.
So, about those xbla games. You bought a digital copy that plays on your 360. You now own that game right. So now you can take that same digital game and it works on the xbox one too. Why? Because its the same product for the 360 as it is the xbox one. Hence, why the xbox one is considered backwards compatible.
@Xirtahm: Those xbla games were originally made and coded for the xbox 360 though. The xbox one is now able to play those games with the use of emulation. You would have an argument if those games were being ported over to run on the xbox one instead but they are not.
