So you're whining about the games, or the non-existent price hike? As from what you are saying, simply none of these games suit your taste rather than them being terrible quality, & the increase in price is actually not an increase, but an extra charge for an extra feature....I mean, they did have to buy the anime company for billions, you think they should just give you access as a kind gift, like clown stanboys say MS are doing with GP?

I'd like to believe that BS too, but fact is, it is the way it is going...I hate it, but it's true..Ownership will be gone, physical will be gone, & digital will overtake with these subs... PC is already done with Steam, EA, GP, etc..
It will be sustainable for these reasons:
1. Subs for GP will go up & the $1 workaround will get stamped out once the fish are hooked.
2. GP will be littered with shovel ware like we already see on Live/GP & PS+ with all these crappy 8 & 16 bit embarrassments of games. (If I wanted that crap I would have kept my NES, SNES & MD). We will be drowned with sub-par indies & the OCCASIONAL indie gem....Big hitters like Halo are already showing signs of how you will get part of the game with GP, but then have to pay extras for other modes & components of a game to make it complete. This is what it looks like to me & makes sense from a business perspective.
3. As well as the GP price hike, & parts of games being included in GP, but the complete experience needing to be paid for in installments, I also think MT's are gonna be introduced enforce....1st they will be friendly cosmetics, until acceptance is more & more, then the pay 2 win sh!t will start creeping back in, in a big way...Long game as GP fans love to spout...The long game is to get more & more of their money.
These are the only ways I see it as sustainable. And the fact is Sony are not helping with $110-$120AU PS5 game prices.
Sucks for me as a fan of Sony's games, & as a proponent for ownership, etc... But it is what it is. I'll enjoy my PS5 as much as I can, I will also be way more subdued in buying new games due to the price hike, until in 2 or 3 gens subs is the ONLY way to play, & consoles are relics of the past. It is sadly inevitable.
I believe Spencer himself, or one of Xbox's suits has said it is not sustainable YET.... So, with another 7.5 billion $ debt from Zenimax aq, then the investment in each of those studios titles adding billions ontop, how would the general GP fan think this will play out....
You think even $1 & even current going rate GP is gonna be possible, & if so, where will concessions be made to maximize profits??? You think MS will just keep giving zenimax's & their inhouse games for pittance to gamers, as they are "consumer friendly" as the dummies like to imply.
Not only will MS increase GP's prices as already indicated by the backlash gamers gave them when they mentioned it last year, but MT's will run rampant & other milking techniques too. I ,mean Bethseda virtually introduced this sh!t with overpriced horse armours, etc on 360/PS3...so it is little wonder they bought them out.
2.5billion... is that with the masses getting $1 deals & loopholes, not to mention specials & points to get it cheap & free, etc. Also, 2.5billion, but how much in dev costs, as Halo Infinite alone was 500 million 1 yr ago when supposed to launch with console.

Truth be knownst, I prefer my PS consoles & games over Nintendo & MS (but will buy all if they have what appeals to me) Now, I was adamant I would be refraining from a Xbox purchase this gen, but after MS's Zen purchase, sh1t got real & I may cave due to my love for Wolfenstein, Doom & Arkane's games......unless other developers start filling that void.
I am not a fan of sub services for games, as I know one of either 2 things happens to offset the costs incurred.
1. Quality & shovelware becomes an issue & big devs like the Zen ones will have to either drop development costs (thus quality &/or quailty) as well as incorporate a LOT of MT's, lootboxes, etc...& to push people into investing it will open up pay 2 win tactics the likes of which we've never seen.
2. The more simple solution will be the obvious price hike that GP WILL receive (they have already tried).
On saying that, as an Australian that now HAS to pay $110-$120AU for standard ed. games & remasters like GOT, Sony are doing themselves & us gamers no favours & actually actively encouraging gamers to look elsewhere for cheaper alternatives like GP. It sucks for fans of physical medium gaming, but it is looking ominously like this is the future of gaming, & I think once that happens, consoles will become obsolete.
