It's hilarious that these same pc players tout how superior mouse & keyboard are & all the other advantages over console players, yet they cheat to win!!!!
Well here's the thing, as you said, there are other gaming options for those that don't enjoy COD, I enjoy plenty of games & genres, & that includes COD....
I always played them for the campaign & dabbled at best in the online mp space...Until PS5 & Cold War, since finishing the campaign on that I have sunk for hours in the mp than all other COD's combined. Getting rid of cheaters is the issue at hand, not your playing preference & attempts at commandeering others away from the franchise.
I really like Cold War, it is my fave COD, & Vanguard looks potentially up my alley too...But at the same time I would love one of their teams to skip the annual releases & release something new, Singularity was a brilliant fps, & deserved more love & a sequel or 2 for example. So, I get what you are saying & agree Activision need to start diversifying their library, but with COD still being so popular & making them money hand over fist, why would they?
This is the history of gaming, make something successful & ride until the wheels fall off. C&C, Halo, GT, Forza, Mario, every sport game, etc, etc, they are all mostly rinses & repeats & barely change it up too often. Nature of the beast!
Hopefully this will do well, & we can get a new, more ambitious, batsh!t crazy game built from the ground up to take advantage of new hardware & game design, mechanics, etc of today.
So much potential in an idea like this to do anything & go anywhere with it!
I guess nobodty sould have bothered making a fps shooter after Doom?Wolfenstein or whatever came first then...Halo definately shouldn't have bothered after Goldeneye & Perfect Dark.
The mix up of Halo & Portal into a fast, frenetic fps seems to be the most revolutionary leap a fps has made in the last 20yrs.....and the rest that don't revolutionize (like COD) stay doing what works & keeps the fans coming back.
Deathloop is my favorite next gen game, really does nothing new, or revolutionary, it borrows elements from other genres & makes it work into a compelling FUN game. Speaking of FUN, can you even spell it, as it seems your life would be completely devoid of fun & hence joyless if you expect literally ANYTHING on this earth to be based on an original idea.
Exactly, except it will be a year old & riddled with new, fancier, better games, so it won't get sales on Xbox or GP, it will simply be played as part of the service & garner no real substantial returns..
Doubt me if you will, but the game will suffer on MS's console unless not much else releases in the interim, OR, MS gets Arkane to add a bunch of stuff to it, including a substantial visual upgrade, etc. I bought the game on PS5 on launch, & it is brilliant, so I hope it gets the sales from pc & PS5 it deserves without PS Stanboy's shunning it out of fanboy spite due to the zenimax purchase (although I get their p!ssed off-edness)...But at the end of the day, gamers can't resist great games, & Deathloop is the best PS5 game I own (just edging Returnal & Ratchet, or at least as good as).

But I'm glad YOU the MS spokesperson for Xbox business has given us all the facts that ABSOLUTELY NO MORE BETHESEDA GAMES are coming to PS.....Oh, except this other Sony timed exclusive in Ghostwire Tokyo....
Apart from that, NOTHING...maybe, well, MS are a business & if GP ain't paying the bills, they know Sony is a viable full price sale if the game is good....so never say never again fanboy...as at this stage. even MS are not willing to commit one way or the other, except for Starfield or whatever that space one is.....So presently Sony has more announced & confirmed exclusives from an MS owned studio, than MS has on it's own console & service......bahahahahahahahahahahah.
As a PS5 owner, Deathloop is ironically the best game I've owned on the console, with Ratchet & Returnal close runners up. It truly is a very fun, highly addictive good ol' time.
It doesn't do anything special graphically, but the 70's themed artsyle is brilliant & reminiscent of No One Lives Forever, mixed with Dishonered, with a more fast & frenetic pace. Love the game...and got it for $79au as oppoed to the $109 minimum Sony's 1st parties have been raping me with. Also only had 60 or so gig left on my ssd & the game fit easily with a patch, so no deletes or issues.
