@NTM23 Microsoft just got kicked in the balls as far as I am concerned. That was an awesome reveal, and they didn't even show the hardware! lol I seriously doubt the xbox is going to top that reveal. Not because it isn't going to be a good system or whatever, but because the PS4 reveal went perfectly and was entertaining from the first to last second. Also, we have all been starved for the next gen stuff to be shown, and Sony gave that to us. It's going to be hard to beat all that.
I don't get why people care about this so much. So what? We saw the controller, that's the important thing. I'm sure it will be fine, all of their consoles have been visually appealing. At least they didn't do like Nintendo did with the Wii U and confuse everyone by making most people think it may have just been a new controller. lol
I'm not at all surprised it's not backwards compatible. The architecture of the PS3 was god awful for developers, and they went a totally different way. I would think they only way they could have done that was to put the hardware itself into the PS4, which I am sure would have been crazy expensive. Honestly... If I was going to pay $500 for a PS4 that is not backwards compatible (which I am willing to do,), I would be more than willing to pay $700 to get the PS3 hardware built in and have it backwards compatible. Though again, I can see why they would not do this as it would look bad with a price tag that high. For the record though... I would have paid it and been fine with it.
ROFL... Yeah... That's about the only thing people can take a shot at because that was the best reveal I have ever seen. I'm sure they will show the console itself right after Microsoft reveals its next machine so they can get the spotlight back on them. It's a very smart move actually.
@nikosmarka When they say 'holidays' they mean the period in the US between Thanksgiving and New Years. End of November though end of December. Most likely before Christmas though.

@G4mBi7 @Sevenizz @crazykcarter I don't feel like I am lacking anything for not having access to the Fable, Gears of War, or Halo series... Truth is, Microsoft was way ahead in install base a few years back, then Sony came back with a vengeance and has been stomping them over the past few years. Microsoft at one time was way ahead on install base, and as of right now I believe the numbers are 77 million PS3 instal base, and 76 million 360 instal base. As for the 360 having a better online service... That's laughable, and anyone who says that clearly hasn't used both. Both are fine. PS3's easily has the advantage in my eyes due to the fact that they give you free games for paying for their premium online service.
@cobra00 Sony stated in their press conference that the PS4 does NOT support PS3 games aside from the cloud gaming thing that they are working on. Meaning you can't put a PS3 disc in your machine and play the game no matter what.
@killerclam48 @crazykcarter THe console vs Pc thing is stupid from both side, but for some reason Pc users feel the need to thump their chests over their PCs. I personally have been a PC gamer for over 20 years, have a gaming rig that would put almost anyone's to shame, and I STILL own and play all the consoles. All platforms have pluses and minuses. Anyone saying any different is being ridiculous. I like all of them personally, so I don't feel the need to champion one over the other.
