It seems everybody is focused on the score so let me point somethings out.

1. Games that receive 10s are not considered perfect although it is a perfect score. The game is just considered really really good.

2. The issue of contention is not the score, but the that the reviewer criticized the game for being misogynistic.

3. People disagreed that the game was misogynistic and saw the reviewer as being over sensitive and/or trying to find an issue where none existed.

These are the main talking points not the score.

@Tripwolf I agree with most of what you said. Also like to point out that the show focused on the score too much when it obviously is not about the score.

I am pretty sure the game could have gotten a 10/10 and still seen the same response given the misogynistic comments.

Gamespot definitely is building a reputation for this kind of thing.

Of course Gamespot defends their review and reviewer. Blah blah blah that's and customary business practice.

Making fun of people that disagree with an article on Gamespot however does not build real dialogue. Not everybody that is upset is going to right an essay in the comment section about how they feel and why they feel that way after a Gamespot review.

No they are just going to say outright how they feel. What you were seeing in those comments were peoples raw reactions to the review in it entirety. The beauty of the comment section is that it has room for both of those and other kinds of responses. Of course personal attacks are not welcome, but it is okay to challenge that persons thought process. That is what healthy debates are all about.

Anytime anything like this comes up it seems like Gamespot dodges the issues by focusing on a couple "bad" posts/comments and then fall back on political correct responses like the one about misogyny. They need to look a little deeper and stop trying to act like they have some sort of moral high ground,

It does not take guts to rate something lower than what people expected. Just have legitimate reasons.

One thing I don't understand is people that praise the reviewer for being "critical". Sure they are entitled to their opinion but that does not make them a better reviewer than a person who gave this game a 10.

They are all opinions. This one is no more right than the next based on the fact they are opinions. However some opinions do have more substance and facts behind them.

This reviewers misogynist comment reminds me of a recent IGN review on Angry Birds Star Wars 2 where they down graded the game because it was based off the Star Wars prequels. That was the reviewers opinion, but people can see through baloney reasons to down grade a game.

The reviewer sounds like Lee Evans from "Mouse Hunt"
