It's just really sad the way that government intrusion is going. I often wonder when/if it will ever stop.

For example, take the seat-belt laws. Personally, I think if you hop behind the wheel of a car and DON'T buckle up, you're a dang fool. However, where is it the governemnt's place to FORCE you to? The typical response to that is "Well, if you get hurt then we all pay for it." To me, that is nonsense because, quite literally ANYTHING/EVERYTHING can be dangerous to you. Cut yourself while preparing dinner? Ban all sharp knives because if you get hurt we all pay for it. People getting fat? Ban all candy because we all pay when you get diabetes.

Take this example of a kid being banned from riding his bike to school, all in the name of Public Safety.
