Why does the armor needs a blanket or a bolero whatever, it is already an armor

NOT AT ALL. I hate to say this but as much as I love this franchise, I got too f!@!@@! bored with the last entry AC3. Its not that I hate it but I dont like it either. I dont even want to play it again.
