Ya, he knows quite a bit. He resists learning too much at a time, but he knows more about computers than my mother does. :lol:

Why don't you get the E7200 and the normal clocked graphics card and try to OC both? All of the 45nm chips from Intel OC like monsters. Just save the money and get the E7200, That is what I plan on doing.

Do note that the E7 series has half the cache and that can affect performance quite a bit in some applications. Maybe 10%. I am not sure. I am also not quite sure what applications the cache makes a large difference in. If someone knows where an article on it is at, a link would be cool. On the other hand, it is only $50 difference, but I am guessing that is a lot since you are not just buying the E8400 and the OCed graphics cards.

My grandpa was on a trip, and he brought his laptop and a disc with his pw's on it. When he got home, he put his pw CD into his desktop, but it said the CD needed formated. He turned on his laptop and all of the data on the HDD was gone, but the partitions were still there. We think it is pretty odd that the partitions were still in contact. Sure is a good thing he is a stickler for backing up stuff.

If the standard software is not very good, what are the best for ATI or nVidia cards?

Ya, but they usually come in a package. Truth is I couldn't think of a good way to put it at the time. I will reword it to NVIDIA Control Panel versus Catalyst Control Center.

Which do you think is better, NVIDIA Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center?

I have an older AMD card, so I don't know if it has less features in the driver than a newer card would, but my nVidia card has more features. It allows you to create a custom resolution (good for LCDs) and has the monitor color wizard. For those reasons, I prefer the nVidia drivers. Although, the AMD driver lets me set the refresh rate for fullscreen 3D and gives me more control when I have dual monitors or connected to a TV.

Tomshardware released an article on some of the specs of the 4800 series cards. It looks good on paper (2900XT come to mind?), but how good do you think they will perform? With the 9600GT prices dropping as low as the 3850, it is not looking to good for AMD, although they are holding their own. It would be good to see some real competition at the top of the market.

[QUOTE="darkgoth678"]

well what i do is that i log into my router and click on the "attached Devices" and if see anything abnormal i know someones on.

But i dont think anyone can get one mine because i have not only a PSK-WAP key set but i have that MAC address filter on so even if they do know the password it wont let them on because if ur not on the filter list it wont let u on.

OK, I clicked on attached devices, and there is only one device home, and it's called "Home." Is that me? And if there is no other, does that mean no one is leeching? Or do I have to do something else in order to see if I'm being leeched?

Yes you do. Check when your connection seems slow to you and you think that someone else is on your connection. If their computer is off or if they are not online, they will not show up.

[QUOTE="_Margulis_"]I bet its the same as regular XP, but i'm not sure.noswear

No its not 32bit is 4gb, 64bit is 128gb

i thought 32bit was 3.5 gb, but i might be wrong...

It only detects 4GB. If you have a video card with 0.5GB (512MB) of RAM, there will only be 3.5GB left.

Is there a place where you can have someone customize a laptop for you? Component customize, not visually.
