I feel a little like developers, publishers and media are not giving us gamers/consumers more credit than we deserve. I get excited about trailers purely for the announcement on my favorite franchises, however I am in awe at some of these well polished trailers with their near/absolute movie quality cg and special FX (Diablo III, RE Raccoon City to name a few), but that alone doesn't get my \$60. Most of us look at game-play, after I see an announcement trailer, I am immediately looking for game-play vids.

I think some people need to lighten up. At the end of the day it is just a game. Please believe that the games you love wont go away. That being said I do not agree with "skipping to the end of the fighting", (basically game play) if you do that, its not a game anymore! Aside from that, people have the right to express their own personal opinions, lets just be more responsible and intelligent in our reactions to beliefs we do not agree with. My goodness with the backlash you might have thought this was a hot button political issue (you know real life stuff, my suggestion: try channeling that passion into something positive and all people can benefit from).

I respect those that take the time to chronicle these systems that represent crucial milestones in gaming's history and evolution. When I tell my kids about 8-bit gaming and pc gold they look at me crazy. These games were marvelous innovations and apart of fond memories growing up. I tell them if it wasn't for these earlier games Angry Birds (and other games like it) wouldn't exist.

I have to say for a video game, I do like the premise of Left Behind. What would you do if you if you were left behind after the rapture?

Mawy_Golomb: Firstly, I stated - I feel we are presented with Movies that do MORE-than lightly reference the Bible, Koran, Jewish-Scripture, etc. So why not games? Secondly, I was simply saying in my comment that in playing a game like El-Shaddai perhaps a player might be interested in doing actual Research ( away from the game, turned off) which would include what you mentioned - literature and documentaries. I feel that is a way to learn about a religion than to vaguely learn about it through a video game. How is that anti-intellectualism? Please read my comment again.........

I feel we are presented with Movies that do more than lightly reference the Bible, Koran, Jewish-Scripture, etc. So why not games? If anything it would generate interest and perhaps inspire the player to do some research when not playing the game. Theology and Mythology are fascinating subjects and in some cases help you to understand a culture.
