I'm glad. I played populous years ago, it was great, you couldn't find many games like it on a console at the time. It will be interesting to see it in 20 pvp! The video interview was motivational and upbeat. I hope he can deliver on the promises though.

Spec Ops: The line is a game am looking forward to playing. It seems to be the game everyone is talking about in terms of a story with a substantial narrative (and has you feeling something else, rather than the usual power fantasy with no consequence) and is something I am very interested in experiencing, if I can get over 1st and 3rd person shooter fatigue. I have been playing Hitman recently (when I can get alone time with the TV , no kids around). Hitman by no means has a great story, but as far as gameplay goes it encourages stealth and precision over shootouts. (Metal Gear as well).

I like the stylistic choices made for the games art style and game-play mechanics (not to mention the soundtrack, it's dope), but I don't think I can lift my hands to play this game. Some game violence is too over the top for no apparent reason other than being more shocking than competing contemporary games. Just like "Gears", (another game I have a hard time justifying playing- I'm not knocking "Gears" or fans or it) taking to people with chainsaw guns doesn't feel fun to me, so in my view I feel "Hotline" shares that similarity. However I do like the way the game does force you to face what you have done as a consequence. I feel like some of the violence in games is beyond gratuitous and doesn't necessarily serve the game narratively or visually. My kids have a lot to do with my decision as well. Great Article, and the Maddy Myers one as well.........thought provoking.

Forgive me but this is off topic.......

Is GameSpot GamePlay on hiatus? I have been checking back constantly to see if there is a new episode.

Sup with that?

Thanks.

It's weird to see their hardware do a 180. From the nunchuks simplistic and non threatening ease of use to a chunky game pad with a screen. The Wii's selling point was it's accessibility and revolutionary motion controls that everyone could use and the games that supported it. I'm not sure on this one.

You are all right. I enjoyed the first trailer with all with it's exaggerated characters and near team fortress like art style, however I didn't like the name "Overstrike" either. ;)
