ok im thinking of buying a psp tomorrow...i just need to know some must have things for it. also how does the online work and what do i need to set it up...what is the best memory card to get for it? and a good starter game, also how much would i need the usb cable??? thank in advanceyungswift44

1.  If you want to connect it to your computer for any reason (i.e., transfer movies, pictures, mp3's, games, etc.) you will need either a usb cable or a card reader.

2.  If you get a USB cable, it should be less than or around $10.  A card reader, or at least a decent one, will run you around $15 - $20, but make sure it reads Memory Stick, MS Duo and MS Pro Duo.

3.  My set up came with a 1 Gig Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo.  PSP's only use the memory stick line of cards - that is important to know.

4.  The internet/online is wireless/WiFi - you just switch it on (it's located on the left side of the PSP) and it'll find a connection.  If you have a wireless cable modem/router you shouldn't have to do much - it'll find the connection.  Otherwise, it will search for nearby connections.  My public library, for example, has WiFi, as do many local bookstores and universities.

5.  I would also get a case for it to protect it from scratches and stuff.

6.  Headphones are also always cool!

Final Fantasy (which I think they're doing) and I would also like a Tomb Raider game that wasn't a port.  I've never played any of the Resident Evil games...I'm guessing by how many want them for the PSP that I should give them a try!

ya im pretty sure i have the usb to connect to my rig. is it just a normal one or is it something special? and how much saved files could fit on a 32mb and how much would that cost?

The USB cable is the same as the one I use for my digital camera.  You can see it here. Amazon, as you'll see, sells it for less than $10.  I also have used a card reader like this one by Dane-Elec which I find is faster than the USB cable.

I would also highly recommend at some point getting at least a 1 gig memory stick.  Remember, it has to be an equivalent of a Sony Memory Stick (not necessarily made by Sony, but equivalent) or it won't work.  Any old SD card won't work, sadly.  You might already know this, but it is a good thing to know if you don't.

I also agree with the idea of getting a case for it, I have a hard case for mine.  I also have a soft cloth that I clean the screen with (it's meant for a camera lens I think) but I'm kind of nutty about that stuff - can't stand fingerprints.

Agreed! :)  And I can enjoy the one I have until that happens...

Same here.  Lately I've been using it to watch Full Metal Alchemist while running on the treadmill at the gym!  I hope to get back to gaming on it more soon.
