@deviltaz35: Not true that there is no limit to the human eye. Most people see between 45-60 frames per second. But you can train your brain to see faster so race drivers and fighter pilots can see up to 250 fps.

So gamers who have been playing at high frame rates will perceive 60fps as choppy whereas everyone else will see it as fluid.

@Master_Overlord Pretty much anyone else apart from Carolyn and Tom gave much better reviews, because everyone else reviewed it as a game and not social commentary.

@Fallenlords69 @Gankstar_VX84 My thoughts exactly, Carolyn cannot give the game a great score because it involves a man acting as protector to a "weak" girl. That is sexist according to feminist ideology. She also marked down a Walking Dead Episode with comments like the girls should be strong and independent blah blah. On the flip side look at her Gone Home review and her year end summary to see just how much her feminist stance made her feel that was the greatest game ever. Not.

Does the gaming public really want games rated according to how they align with feminist ideology, or political correctness or any other political theory. I thought games were entertainmnet where you can kill, rob and blow things up to your hearts content.

Anybody trying to inject their ideology into games need to kicked out. Games are not real life so keep your personal politics out of my life.

@Intellips Well they got rid of their worst reviewers so lets see if they can refocus on giving realistic game reviews again.

@SillySkeleton As well as slamming every soldier who has ever lived. Thanks for protecting us and doing our dirty work but geez you soldiers are incapable of love so best you dont go back to your families.

Preaching her feminist morality is precisely why she failed as a reviewer. We dont want to be converted to your POV, we want to know if the game is enjoyable to play

@longestsprout There is a difference between a professional review where personal bias should be omitted and editorials where personal bias is allowed. There is no issue describing Joel as being cold hearted but to then claim he is incapable of love is Petit's personal bias showing through.

People go to sites like Gamespot to read professional reviews - balanced, thought-out and fair. We want to trust the judgement of the reviewer. We cannot to do with the likes of Petit because she has no qualms injecting her feminist stance into every review. This makes her reviews untrustworthy unless you believe feminist issues are an important element in judging games.

Gamespot is a business. The better its reputation the more visitors it will receive so the more money it will earn. You can either choose to go the tabloid route and sensationalize everything with opinionated reviews or you can go the professional route. I believe the majority prefer the latter.

@generalbrownie You dont get it. Professional reviewers set aside personal bias to critic games based on values shared among the gaming public. If you are going to mark a game up or down then do so for reasons that will resonate with gamers not because you had an abused childhood or you are a transsexual etc. Personal agendas are not part of a professional review. People are not complaining that other people have differing opinions, they are complaining certain reviewers write poor reviews because they are unprofessional.

We dont want just anybody's personal opinion, we can ask our friends for that, we come here to be informed with well thought out unbiased analysis about the gameplay so we can more accurately assess if we wish to purchase the game.

This is Gamespot not Carol's Blog

@houshidar Yes it was Tom but we subsequently learned he marked the game down due to personal pet peeves so he was as unprofessional as Carol.

Yet another uber-feminist review by Carol, slamming Joel for being cold hearted and incapable of love because he is fighting to survive and protect Ellie. That's what men do Carol even if you dont like it cause you abandoned your genetic gender. How come you dont question Ellie - she kills too. And the "exceptional" dlc gives you a warm fuzzy feeling because it displays two girls playing together offering you a fantasy of girl friendship you never experienced for yourself.

We dont care. Your gender politics have got nothing to do with gaming. Games are not meant to be politically correct nor are they meant to be a battleground for promoting feminist agendas. Your recent reviews like Gone Home and GTAV were the worst reviews I have ever come across. You used them as bully pulpits to get your feminist propaganda publicized.

You may have had fans here you loved your emotional gibberish but most disliked you because you were not doing the job you were paid to do. So now I see you were sacked, no big surprise seeing how many complaints were raised against you. However I wish you well in finding another job, just make sure it is not reviewing games on any site I visit. Maybe you can team up with Anita Sarkeesian and earn lots of money slamming games for being sexist.

The Last of Us is one of the finest games ever produced and now it is being brought to PS4 owners to enjoy. It could not possibly be anything less than a 9 as nothing else has surpassed it since its release. But then reviewing and scoring games is not one of Carol's strong points.

@Ailurusf @nl_skipper @Sound_Demon Great idea, lets inject personal politics into reviews. Lets have an anti gun reviewer downgrade all FPS games because they promote gun violence.

Every time Carol reviews a game with a "strong independent" female character in it you can guarantee she will be calling it a great game irregardless of whether it is or not. This makes her reviews unreliable unless you agree games should be judged on how they display female characters.

Her opinion is supposed to be focused on gameplay not her personal gender bias. She should be rightly called out for this every time she does it so people are aware her slanted her reviews are.
