IGN has the most reliable although they have their share of "classics":

Jade Empire getting a 9.9/10 and not even getting an honorable mention in the RPG of the Year category LOLOL!

Okami wasn't the PS2 GOTY a couple of years ago, but it got overall GOTY. IGN certainly seems to have some division across editing pools. I LOVE the way their system is set up, though.

IGN also has the best podcasts. I like their editors also. I hate their forums!

PS: Okami got GOTY because of the way IGN's GOTY voting was set up in the office. I heard them explain in the podcast that many people put it as their 3rd place or 2nd place, but it ended up getting more 'points' than any other game. They have since changed their voting system.

Yeah, I know about why Okami got the GOTY. I just think it's rather funny, because their editors that are dedicated to covering PS2 games didn't even think it was the best game that the PS2 had to offer that year (they were wrong, though), and the other editors thought it was awesome. That's what I mean by "division." I'm sure there are plenty of people who rejected the notion of giving a Wii game GOTY (Twilight Princess) simply because it was a "port" or "gimmicky."

Unless they bring back Rare I highly doubt anything Nintendo tries will be good... unless they put their big teams (Mario, Zelda) on it.foxhound_fox

Nintendo has a lot of great dev teams. They have some of the best management around, as well. If they did a full-fledged DK, I guarantee it wouldn't disappoint.

Me. Besides me, I would go with IGN and Gametrailers over anyone else. Also, I trust the judgment of gamesarefun.com very much, but they don't put out nearly as many reviews as a lot of other sites. The reader reviews are great though.

I think they just don't feel the need to put out a new version every year or two. I wish more franchises were like that.

Why does exclusivity seem to matter to this forum so much?

Does any PC gamer actually care that Spore is coming to the Wii or DS? Nope, not as long as it's coming the PC and that's the console they want it for.

I couldn't care less that Battlefield 2 is available on the 360, because even though 360 noobs can play it, I can still play it on my PC.

I am looking forward to RED ALERT 3!!!!!!

For everything great that the PC does have, there are as many downfalls.

The PC is the best elitist platform. I don't think there's really a doubt about that. The PC dominates the elitist genres, because KB + M really is the best way to go for certain genres at this point.

I wouldn't say the PC is the best platform, though. To me, gaming is about pure fun, and I have more fun playing casual games with a group of friends, which is much easier to do on a console.

Plasma. Burn-in really isn't that big of an issue any more. Plasmas are the best there is to offer in the HD world.

All hail the king of sales, Halo 3.

jbz7890

Halo 3 has been more than doubled up by Nintendogs. Halo 3 isn't close to being the "king of sales." "King of HYPE" would be accurate, however. Its initial sales were monstrous, but there will be many games to outsell it this generation.
