2. Baldur's Gate II
3. Mass Effect (i know what you said but this was an instant classic for me, the PC version anyway)
4. Morrowind
5. Arcanum
Theres no Diablo in this list and thats because in my opinion Diablo is not an RPG or Action RPG or whatever Blizzard like to call it. It is simply a hack'n'slash game, it is very simple gameplay with a very simple storyline there isn't really anything RPG about it when compared with the games on my list and others.
Well COH is pretty popular, it made Relic even more popular and brought Relic to the mainstream. gogators4life
I'm not so sure that it has and in a way i hope that it doesn't, look at Dawn of War II there is nothing mainstream about it, it is very different from the RTS norm. When developers become mainstream, innovation becomes smaller and smaller until the market being saturated with the same style of game over and over and over again.
Company of Heroes by far, the gameplay is superior in every aspect, the graphics, physics, squad AI, tactical side but what do expect when you pit an innovative RTS from 2007 agaionst a game from 1998. StarCraft while a good polished game is one of the most over-rated games in history, it is basically a clone of Dune/C&C with a different story, the same rock/paper/scissors, build base, gather resource gameplay.
There are polenty of RTS's out there that are better than StarCraft and WarCraft but they get little recognition as they are not mainstream brutes like the Craft games. Bear in mind that this is my opinion but i found that games like HomeWorld, Cossacks. Ground Control, World in Conflict, and Company of Heroes to all have vastly better gameplay than the Craft games, they just didn't have the story or in some cases had stories too deep for the mainstream crowd.
Blizzard rarely produce a game with fresh features or deep gameplay their strength has always been in polished games that are simple and easy to get into to, they never really push the boundaries which is why in my opinion they get far more credit from reviewers than they should.
[QUOTE="Wesker776"][QUOTE="chandlerr_360"]Too bad the GTX 280 outperforms the 4870X2.
chandlerr_360
Right, a single HD4870 is roughly 10-20% slower than GTX 280 (the gap closes when 8xMSAA is used), so obviously two RV770 will be slower than a GTX 280! Also, I love the fact that you have a review sample of the HD4870 X2, but you're not willing to share your benchmarks.
Trust me, the GTX 280 will be outperforming the HD 4870x2 (when it comes out in early August).
This is possible but it will depend on the specs of the GT200's once they have gone through the 55nm die shrink. People on Gurur3d have got their 65nm GTX280's running with the core at 730mhz so the 55nm versions should be as high or higher than that at stock.
[QUOTE="aveman1"]I'm going with 2 GTXs because I have a 30 inch monitor, and 2560 x 1600 dosen't run easy. Also, there are two kits of 2gig packs, totalling 4 gigs. Also, does anyone have any experiance with getting 1 kit of 4 gigs, instead of 2 kits of 2. I've also never used more than 100 gigs on my current rig, so 250gigs will be enough, much less 500. I'm even thinking of dropping a harddrive for deticated sound card, see link below. Only reason I'm not is because of lossing the speed from a RAID0.

are you instane? your electricity bill is going through the freaking ROOF. If you really have that much money to through away be my guest. But truly I would makesure you get a big-ass PSU to go along with those 8800GTX's. (Personally I would just get a HD370x2...even if it's still a power hog.)
His electricity bill will not go through the roof and there is no need to buy a big PSU, 8800GTX's Sli will easily run on a Corsair HX620W PSU. There is absolutely no need for 1000W+ PSU's, unless you overclock like crazy.
*Spoilers*
The End of HL:EP2 where Eli Vance is killed by one of those telekentic maggots.
The Witcher where you find out that the detective you've been helping was actually killed and hidden in a crypt, it was the evil mage disguised as the detective all along.
In FEAR, you find out that you are actually the son of Alma and the brother of Paxton Fettel.
The Kotor twist is cool but i saw it coming once i saw the first flashback.
Theres no way i can pick any of the RPG's listed.
PlaneScape, Fallout, and Baldur's Gate are far and away better games.
why is ut3 ps3 exclusive, all the have to do to get the 360 version is downgrade the graphics and modify the controls for the 360's controller.mistervengeance
UT3 is not PS3 exclusive, it is comming to the 360 sometime in 2008. And they won't need to downgrade the graphics, they are exactly the same as Gears graphics.
