Snowyjoe i'm not sure how old these "classic" games are that you are referring to but on Vista HP 64Bit, i have StarCraft, Rune, WarCraft III, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate, and Baldur's Gate II. All these games run perefectly for me and i didn't need to pay for some Microsoft download to get them to play. Uberjannie, Crysis isn't a true DX10 game. Watch some of the developer interviews for it and they say themsleves that DX10 was incorporated when they were already more than half way through developing the game. A true DX10 game will be built from the ground up using DX10 and won't have a DX9 version.

Gamespot's report is way wide of the mark, it's been known the past couple of weeks that the 3870X2 beats both the GTX and Ultra in 3dMark and in most games. However the people saying that it is not fair comparing ther X2 with a GTX SLi setup i'm afraid you can't really complain because the X2 is a dual core card so it is basically Crossfire setup itself. It however is still on beta drivers where as the GTX has been out a year and had regular driver updates each increasing FPS it gives. The people saying that 9800GX2 is going to crush 3870X2 are in for a very bad shock when they see it fail. 9800GX2 is only two G92 8800GTS 512 cards literally bolted together with a cooler in between. The thing ran so hot that it has had to be severely underclocked and if you remember the 7900GX2/7950GX2 then you know that Nvidia will support this product for a couple of months and then drop it for their next single GPU. AMD/ATi are actually pushing technology forward as this the first ever dual-core graphics card, Nvidia are rehashing old technology in a bid to rake in more money before they roll out their next high end GPU's. The true battle between ATi and Nvidia this year is going to be between Ati's R700 (which is also rumoured to be a multi-core GPU some rumours saying that the high end version could be quad-core) and Nvidia's GT200 which is another single core card but rumoured to be a complete monster.
