Glad to see Tom Mc Shea didn't review it. Finally a fair review that I felt justified the score it was given. The negatives listed at the top I felt were valid points though I don't think they significantly hinder the game as a whole. Too bad more gamespot reviewers aren't this professional.

@PoindeJ I hear ya. Tom Mc Shea is a joke. I find IGN's people to be more open minded and less bigoted. The folks at IGN actually are excited about games. Shouldn't that be a great perspective to have as a game critic. When you are grumpy and cynical and feel that your opinion is the only one that matters ( Tom Mc Shea ) you can't remain objective and will always tend to have a innate bias or personal vendetta against a game, franchise or company.

@AllyG You posted this before and again I question why? The video is biased look at the title PS4&720 anthem. And since when is any parody a representation of the truth? They never have been and never will be.

@blairstheman Give him a chance? You must be joking. If you have read some of the other crap he has posted here he has no credibility. His Skyward Sword review was flawed and later had to be revised and he refused to admit he had been in error. He is full of bias and scorn for Nintendo and I highly doubt that anything Nintendo does could appeal to Tom Mc Shea who is so full of his own ego that he likely believes he is second only to Jesus. No...Nintendo could make a new IP and Tom Mc Shea would still find something to bitch and moan about and still try to belittle Nintendo simply because they are a company that dares to be different contrary to what he believes.

@enrique_marrodz Your comment made me laugh because it is so true. Pachter is an idiot so he and Tom would get along just swimmingly.

The following is an article that illustrates the hypocrisy of Micheal Pachter.

Another interesting bit of info I found is the following chart which rates customer experience with various products. Nintendo is at the top of the list above Sony, Microsoft and even Apple.

@kabloe It appears that the PS4 will likely be announced on Feb. 20th.. but the PS4 won't be the powerhouse everyone is expecting. I am not saying the PS4 won't have decent hardware it likely will. However it appears that the next Sony console will focus more on social integration and features as opposed to being purely about hardware. http://www.psxextreme.com/ps4-news/121.html

According to wallstreet sources "people familiar with the matter have said the new device will make its debut there." Apparently, "social features and the user experience" will be key focal points of the new machine and although gamers are often interested in better specs, this machine will emphasize "changes in how users interact with the machine."

I still believe that we will not see a significant jump this gen over what we had from PS2 or Xbox to the PS3 and 360. Just look at how long it took to reach where we are today this gen. Compare launch titles for the PS3 and 360 with games that currently exist on the system.

I also doubt that we will see a big discrepancy between the quality of visuals this gen as we did between the ps3, 360 and Wii. Game development costs will only continue to rise. Sony is pushing their new 4k tv's which will be highly cost prohibitive to the average consumer when they do release. And many developers still won't develop anything beyond 1080p.

Also if the rumors of Sony blocking the play of used games and removing backwards compatibility is true..I expect that a lot of gamers will reject this. Of course you will have the people who say... "Why not just play your PS3 games on your PS3? The answer is that a majority of people's entertainment centers simply cannot accommodate numerous consoles hooked up at the same time. Especially if your Tv is in such a configuration that all the jacks are in the back and it becomes increasingly difficult to unplug one system so you can hook up another.

Rumors point to Sony's next console using a controller with a touch screen...hmm seems Nintendo have done the same thing. We have reached a level with hardware where games look quite good and I think that perhaps after the success of the Wii; Sony and Microsoft have both realized there are far more ways to approach how we think about playing games than merely releasing a new model with souped up hardware. I look forward to seeing what both of the new consoles are capable of.

@Redley911 @FlameEmperor Unfortunately Nintendo could release a entirely new IP as Tom Mc Shea wants and he would still find something to bitch and moan about and then proceed to write a flawed article about why said new IP sucks.

So even if Rayman Legends turns out to be quite excellent (which I am sure it will) Tom Mc Shea would undoubtedly find some way to discredit it simply because it is on a Nintendo System.

@emandanijeldax And Nintendo has been around for 25+ years. A lot longer than the studios who have made God of War or Halo. To argue that "Oh yeah well Gears of War or God of war is only on their 6th installment" seems hypocritical. Of course its easy to say something like that considering those studios haven't been around as long. But what if they make it last as long as Nintendo? What will be your argument then when they have 18 titles in each franchise? I suppose it would be something like "Oh well Mario has X titles while God of War or Gears has how many titles? How many Call of Duty games has there been? There have been roughly 8 call of duty games, about 23 MADDEN games if you go back as far as the Apple II, Metal Gear has had about 23 games 24 if you include MGS rising, and 25 if you include Ground Zeroes. And there have been around 40 different Sonic games...

Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Sonic and Knuckles.
Sonic Spinball
Sonic 3D Flickies Island
Sonic Spinball
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
And a few others that can be found on Sonic Mega Collection Plus.

Sonic CD
Sonic the Fighters
Sonic R
Again, more can be found in Sonic Gems Collection

Sonic Shuffle
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, including the DX and Battle additions.
Sonic Heroes
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2006
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic Colours

Sonic Riders
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Sonic Free Riders

Sonic Advance 1, 2 and 3
Sonic Rush
Sonic Rush Adventure
Sonic Battle
Sonic Rivals
Sonic Rivals 2
Sonic Chronicles the Dark Brotherhood

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic and the Black Knight

If a company has been around 25+ years of course they are bound to have more entries in a particular series as opposed to a newer developer. But the fact of the matter is as long as people keep buying them and they continue to be well received publishers and developers will continue to release the next installment in a venerable franchise. Why? Because its a money maker. If Call of Duty lasts another 10+ years it will be because people continue to buy an annualized release of the series. And I am going to go out on a limb here and predict that you might be one of those people given that your avatar appears to be Sgt. Frank Woods from CoD Black Ops.

@AllyG So what your saying is a video labeled as PS4&720 next gen anthem is not biased at all? And Parodies should now be considered fact or truth?

@Dessicator @grim0187 Any monkey can write about games and offer their opinion but it doesn't make it true. Whether you like a game or not is completely subjective. You may like a particular title, another may absolutely hate it. The issue I have with Mr. Mc Shea is that his criticisms appear to be highly bigoted and nothing more than an attempt to increase hits on the site.

Also take into account that he botched the skyward sword review which later had to be corrected, and rather than admit he made a mistake he stubbornly stood by his erroneous review. That is my problem. He simply lacks tact and his articles often are laced with arrogance. Also I have to question your statement..you say that Mario Bros U is a solid game but a slap in the face to Nintendo fans? I don't get it ...if its a solid game how can it be a slap in the face. There are a great many people who know what they are getting when buying a Mario Bros. game. And from what little I have played Super Mario Bros. U it is certainly more original than Super Mario Bros 2 for 3DS and is certainly one of the harder entries in the series. Add in Miiverse integration and it adds a whole new layer of connectivity...being able to share your thoughts about the game with other players is great. I just find it odd that you would call Mario Bros U a solid game and then turn right around and say that it is a slap in the face.

Also Nintendo hasn't alienated 3rd party developers. I don't know where you seem to be getting this notion from. With WiiU they have been far more open to getting 3rd party support and been actively acquiring it. Look at all the launch titles, ports they may be but they are all triple AAA titles of 3rd party publishers. ACIII, Black Ops2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Darksiders 2, Tekken Tag 2, and with the additions of Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends, Aliens Colonial Marines and their partnership with Unity; Nintendo has been far more outgoing in getting 3rd party support. Just look at their recent announcement of a collaboration in the form of the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei crossover.
