@ABakedAlien The Wii was by no means a flop from a sales standpoint. And while it did have a batch of shovelware crap there were so many wonderful games for the system that its anything but a flop. Wii had some of the best first party titles. Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Last Story, Xenoblade, Mario Galaxy, etc. And the WiiU will have access to all the great Wii titles. If you really want a flop from Nintendo.. look at systems like the virtual boy, the Gameboy Advance Micro, and if a current Nintendo console flops it won't be the WiiU but rather the Wii Mini.

@SemperFi189 You said they know Nintendo can't compete in hardware... the answer is they can.. but as you pointed out they just choose not to. Nintendo knows what they do best and that is developing games for the hardware THEY create. Nintendo is very much the company that innovates and keeps the gaming industry fresh. Microsoft and Sony saw fit to bring motion controls to their own systems and Sony quite blatantly copied the idea of the Wiimote and nunchuk. To me Sony has become very much a copycat company. I still like my PS3 but if I want truly compelling innovative ways to play games I will put my money on Nintendo all day long. I enjoy playing my friend's 360 at his house as well, I like gaming in general but Nintendo's exclusives have always been why I have played their games for 22+ years.

@ChiefFreeman everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is full of bias. But hey that Vita sure is selling like hotcakes right? Sony must be making a fortune so I'm sure they will do just fine releasing their PS4 at the highly inflated price of 800 US dollars. I have both a PS3 and a WiiU and I can honestly say I enjoy both. I think the same was said about the Wii that it would be forgotten..funny how Sony and Mircosoft didn't forget how badly their system was being outsold by a console that appealed to everyone. So what did they do? They released their own motion control peripherals. Or at least Microsoft did and Sony copied while saying "Oh yeah we will just take what Nintendo has done, put a ball on the end of a wii remote, change it a little bit, paint it black and call it the move...yes...its genius!"

People will always find something to complain about. Sure I can see load times being frustrating but these have even been significantly improved with the latest firmware update.

As for the nitpicks over the touch screen and the USB 2.0 and external storage I don't feel these are anything to be particularly upset over. As far as the touch screen goes I could care less. The fact that it is resistive and stylus centric is just fine for what the gamepad was intended. The whole Idea behind the gamepad is streaming a game or show to the gamepad while others use the TV for other things. And furthermore if you don't like the stylus many of the WiiU games function just fine using button imputs and commands to navigate menus. Personally I don't like the idea of putting fingerprints all over my screen anyway. I have seen some of my friend's Ipad's and I have to say that they are an absolute mess. Of course you can clean them but why go through all the hassle. A stylus based touch screen is much easier to keep clean and maintain in the long run at least in my opinion. As far as USB 2.0. I don't think anymore is really necessary.

Regarding the point you are trying to make about external storage baffles me. Nintendo offered 2 models. Obviously the deluxe set is geared towards the 'core' gamer audience whereas the basic would probably appeal more to your 'casual' family or someone who is not interested in downloading titles. Hell I got the deluxe set and will likely buy most of my games as retail games anyway. That HD is only really going to be used for downloaded titles, apps, or saving data. Why include a HD that is bigger than what is necessary and make the consumer pay more? Nintendo was smart by giving consumers the option to buy a third party storage device if so desired. And lets be honest most 3rd party external Hard drives are fairly inexpensive now. I believe you can pick up a 500GB external USB based Hard drive for 50-60 bucks. My 1TB external HD cost me a 100 dollars. How much were the Proprietary HD's sold by Microsoft?

As far as outdated tech goes I don't feel this is exactly a fair criticism either. Nintendo is utilizing a GPU more than a CPU as opposed to the other systems which also has resulted in a significant amount of heat reduction. In fact the WiiU's power consumption is roughly 33 watts which is roughly half of what is currently seen in the PS3 and 360. The WiiU also can match the 360 and PS3 out of the box. How long have the PS3 and 360 been on the market now? Compare a PS3 title from its launch to PS3 games now. Now do the same for 360. WiiU currently matches what those systems offer and this is only the first generation of software titles for the console before developers truly get to know how to best utilize the hardware of the system. And I think its important to note, you don't need the the latest and greatest to have truly great games. Look at the Wii. The Wii has sold far more systems than the PS3 or 360, all while having less hardware muscle. And yet despite the limitations of the Wii's hardware it has had some of the best games last gen. Titles like Skyward Sword (( though Im sure at least one of the gamespot crew would beg to differ even though he has since been proven to have not known what he was talking about, they did have to edit his review after all )) and don't forget titles like Mario Galaxy, or Galaxy 2, Xenoblade, Metroid Prime 3, etc. Its not about hardware, its about how its utilized to create memorable experiences.

Personally I think while GW2 is fun it just doesn't retain my interest very long. I have played World of Warcraft a while now and am having a great time in Pandaria. Before I get flamed which Im sure I will note this is just MY opinion. Something everyone is entitled to.

Personally I find the heart quests in GW2 unengaging. WoW has its share of dull quests but by and large Im enjoying Pandaria's quests more. The heart quests in guild wars 2 make leveling seem like a grind because you are doing the same thing to fill a bar to increase your relationship with a NPC for what a few gold? Very seldom you receive a award for completing these heart quests and the experience you get from killing monsters in negligible.

Personally I think WoW has better quest progression and leveling. I also have been thoroughly enjoying WoW's new race and class and the new dungeons really are quite fun.

Guild Wars 2 is a vibrant and rich world and I admire the fact that Arena Net wants you to get out there and explore. Another little thing that irritates me with GW2 is its cutscenes. They are far too static and you only watch as two characters point fingers at one another. The dialogue is voiced which is a plus but I think I would have liked to have seen more interaction. Mists of Pandaria's cutscenes are far more engaging in my opinion as you get to watch something unfold such as the Sha rising in Jade Forest. I would have thought that GW2 could have at least managed to make something a bit more engaging at least for the personal story quests. Which leads me to my next point.

I like the fact GW2 offers you a unique way to create your character. And the customization is nice. Overall though I felt the story was a bit uninspired. This is just my opinion but I found most of the story characters and the story itself thus far entirely forgettable. No one NPC or moment has really stood out for me aside from maybe the halloween Mad King event.

In Pandaria you meet figures like Chen Stormstout, Help Prince Anduin, meet the august celestials. These are figures you remember and become attached too.

In the end GW2 has qualities I like and those I dislike but Pandaria has my attention thus far. Another draw to Pandaria is the fact I still have friends who play.

GW2 is fun but wears thin for me which is why I play it in short play sessions. I tried to highlight some of the things I liked with GW2 to balance out what I don't like. In the end its about what you enjoy and for me I am enjoying my time in Pandaria.

When I saw that this article was written by Tom Mc Shea I instantly smelled bullcrap. After his lame review of skyward sword and the fact his review had to have a edit made because he couldn't even get the idea that Skyward's control isn't through the IR sensor but rather the motion plus and gyrosensor. Any credit he had as a reviewer is dead at least to me. Secondly his saying the 3ds doesn't need 2 screens is crap too. The touch screen cleans up the HUD by shifting it to the bottom screen leaving the top screen uncluttered. Also wasn't it sony that copied Nintendo's touch screen idea by putting touch "panels" into the vita? Wasn't it sony that copied Nintendo's motion controls with the PS move which looks like some erotic toy. Also if you want to get technical. The 3ds actually has 3 screens if you think about it due to its parallax barrier. Also its hard to make a comparsion between the vita and 3ds because the vita is only rendering one image. The 3ds is rendering the same image twice to acheive the 3D effect. Gamespot seriously needs to fire this joker. And Ive said it once and Ill say it again. Graphics don't make a game. Gameplay does. Nintendo's games have always been among the best experiences you can find anywhere. Sony likes to just use more horsepower.. So if they have a game that's a pile of manure at least it looks like a nicer pile of manure.
