I agree with the reviewer giving it a 9 out of 10.
The visuals and level design is great, although the story is not perfect and character behavior is sometimes inconsistent like reviewer mentioned. Character switch during a mission is sometimes chaotic because you sometimes spawn in the middle of a gun fight with several enemies surrounding you.
I enjoyed this game very much and it's got some beautiful visuals and environments, but it's not a 10 out of 10 because of some flaws. Other reviewers are probably bribed by Rockstar or they are just less professional.
People worrying about nothing, a 9 is a good score and who gives a crapper about scores, well some immature and dependent people do.
I agree with themc_7, i'm now actually playing this game on pc and the story, emotion in the characters and the dialogs are very good.
The game-play is more like Dead Space 3 and it doesn't look like previous lost planets. The game-play and environments are repetitive, but the story and characters keep you going. The textures on pc, who gives a damn. I'm still playing turbografx, nes, saturn etc. games on pc emulators and i really don't give a damn about the graphics. But don't forget to set settings to High, because on default it's set to normal settings.
Kevin VanOrd is a good reviewer, but i knew a few days ago that this game would get low score if Kevin would review this game and so it did happen.
Play game on pc and check it out yourself, don't let reviewers get in the way of you playing this game. It's not great, but it's not bad either. I would give LP3 a 6.5 - 7 i think.
