I'm fine with the idea of coop being included, but making it mandatory could be a problem. Clearly that's why they created this friend pass thing, but I don't know... this seems to me like the kinda game that should be playable offline with an AI partner.

They have an edition of this game listed for $91 on PSN and the Microsoft store (and that's the sale price). For clarity, this first came out over 2 years ago, in December 2015. The fact that it's getting lootboxes is neither a surprise nor the first anti-consumer "strategy" Ubisoft has taken with Rainbow Six Siege. Greed doesn't begin to describe it.

He's certainly not alone. It's good to hear him say it though, adds to the legitimacy.

They botched the only two plot points this trilogy had left... Rey's origins and Snoke. It doesn't help that they changed nothing about Fisher's scenes in this following her death, when they clearly intended for the third film to be her time to shine.

So inevitably, there will be a major shift coming that will throw a wrench into the thin plot direction they had going, and on top of that... Abrams is back in the driver seat. What a disaster. $200 million, and a total waste of the talents of Benicio Del Toro and Andy Serkis. If this wasn't named Star Wars, Disney would have another John Carter on their hands.

I like linear games. I don't like multiplayer games with progression and unlock systems built around microtransactions. There's some more market research for EA to ignore.

Much like Konami, EA is intent on destroying itself with no help whatsoever from anyone on the outside.

@xcael: I don't need to take a business course. These companies are making plenty of money without microtransactions. GTAV was breaking sales records long before shark cards were introduced, and the Witcher 3 made CDPR bank without any of this new age, pseudo gambling bullshit at all.

There is no problem here, just a company getting rightfully called out for their avarice and disrespect toward consumers. The only people who should be making this false dichotomy of accept it or raise the price of games are the publishers themselves, so the real question is.... do you work for EA? lol. I'm done with this conversation.
