I am getting this too. Now, I'm quitting the game first, then shutting down my PS3. Sometimes it works, and sometimes I still get the improper shutdown. Either way, this needs to be fixed.

I've seen a decent amount of good reviews for this game, but a lot of people seem to be pretty angry about some of the previous features being removed. If I only play this game for exhibitions and season modes, will this game also be a disappointment. I thought the demo was fun to play.

You're going to find a lot of differing opinions on this one... but my personal belief is the game is the best version since 2006. The new gameplay engine is much better, and the game is a lot less glitchy. There are still some balancing problems, and people still cheese like crazy online.

As far as the franchise mode, basically Connected Careers is the new "franchise" mode. It isn't as in-depth as the old franchise mode, which angers a lot of people, with good reason. And right now, there is NOT a fantasy draft option. There is also no player editing, though EA said they may be adding that soon.

I play mostly Ultimate Team, which I think is fantastic. So to me, this game is great. I think its definitely worth buying if you don't solely play franchise mode. I've also played as Walter Payton, and created myself in Connected Careers. Both have been fun. The gameplay has improved drastically from last year. But they did trim down the game modes...

There are a couple things that contribute to this... I think the game is designed to force you to make better throwing decisions, and to lead receivers into the open. The precision control is easy. You just use the left analog stick and aim it in the direction you want to lead the receiver. On out routes, angle it to the sideline and you'll lead the receiver away from the defender. On slants and posts, angle the stick behind the receiver, which will keep you from leading the pass right into the waiting linebacker or safety. On streaks/bombs, push up on the stick and it will lead your receiver more, and he will pull away from the corner. On hitch routes, angle the throw toward the sidelines (because corners almost always play inside leverage on hitch routes), and not only will your guy be open, he might have A LOT of room to run if the CB misses the tackle.

You really have to do this to get more open receivers. Also, throwing into coverage almost guarantees an interception, JUST LIKE REAL FOOTBALL. It forces players to make the right decisions, and actually execute the play. I really like it... and once you get used to when/where to lead your receivers, it will make perfect sense.

not sure if you're glitching or not... I got blown out 48-27 online the other night and I got something like 680 coins.

I think people expect too much. This game is exactly what the successor to D2 should have been. A nice-looking, simple, action RPG. That's all Diablo 2 was in its day. I realize the nostalgia of D2 is great, and it has a huge following of devoted players. I was one of them. But look at these games objectively. Diablo 2 was not a 10/10 game in its day, either. But it was extremely fun. D3 is exactly the same in that reagard. My only problem with it is the lack of an offline mode. And the way the server-to-client software (file system) is set up, I don't think they CAN change that now, even if they wanted to. It would be almost like making a whole new game.

shark, in every online game (most, anyway) there is a real money market for in-game items and currency. Even though you might not pay real money for them (neither would I), many people would. Whether its for a shortcut to the top, or for prestige, or whatever, some people will spend real money on virtual items. I think Blizzard is adding the real-money AH to D3 to cut out the "Chinese gold seller" element, which ends up ruining the game's economy for players who are crafting/farming/selling the way they are supposed to.

I think you are right. The easiest way to kill the "used" game market is to release games as download only. In the past, it hasn't been high-demand games released this way. But I think we are going to see better, higher-demand games as pure dlc. As long as the consoles/hardware are built to accommodate the storage needed, I think this will become more and more common. And when you have two choices: download your favorite games or don't play games at all, I don't see many people sticking to their principles and not buying games. Even if they say they won't.

POSSIBLE SPOILER- Not sure if you are looking for help or not... I actually got stuck at that part for a while, too... from the start, there are two ways you can go-- one way is to that truck, and one way is toward the other side of the parking lot. Try going the other way... soon enough you will get an item that will muffle the sound of the shattering truck window. From there, you can get the screwdriver and continue.
