So a while back i got the apparently widespread nvidia nf4 error. If i installed the drivers for my 7800GTX my computer would get to the windows loading screen and not start up (drivers worked fine before) For my computer to work again i would have to boot into safe mode and delete the drivers. I managed to find an old driver for my card which worked with my computer but when the driver was installed my desktop became extremely enlarged and saturation was turned up to the max and i coulnt edit it making the computer interface unusuable. So since then i have just not bothered and have used my computer without any drivers for my graphics card. Due to what i think is the graphic card defect images on my comp are not crystal clear. Here is an example shown of part of my desktop.
As you can see theres loads of pixelated squares that shouldnt be there (and no i dont have a mac, just a mac desktop pic)
When i boot up my comp all the words are scrambled and random, scrambled text is there that shouldnt be and the picture that comes up of my mobo 'lanparty4' the picture is all distorted too. Windows does not detect my 7800gtx but everest software does which is confusing me. And ovbiously i cannot play games with games saying a graphics devide cannot be found.
So basically just double checking that my graphic card is completely screwed before i attempt to remove it and that just buying a new graphics card would fix the problem?
Thanks. __________________

Well its your fault for having all them programs on startup. To see what programs are on startup click start and then run and type 'msconfig' then select startup. To avoud problems liek this in the future as soon as you install a program do that and uncheck what you just installed as most programs you install automatically start at startup unless you tell them otherwise.
What the hell? :| How the hell does 'hi' sound girlish? If anything hey sounds more.
[QUOTE="edd678"][QUOTE="ch5richards"][QUOTE="edd678"]How do you connect to the internet. Just plug in an ethernet cable? If so you will need the drivers for you motherboards ethernet before it will work. Thanks for the input so far guys. Just one moore question.
I've reinstalled xp before and after i did my broadband didnt work and the connection wasnt being picked up yet my other computer was recieving internet froom my router fine.
My brother in the end fixed the problem but i dont know how. With most isp do you get a disk or something that connects you too their internet?

I have ADSL broadband.
But how do you hook up your PC, wireless, or plug a cable from the modem/router straight to the PC?
Basically you will need drivers for whatever method you use. For wired, the driver disc that came with your motherboard should have the ethernet drivers, or you can download them from the manufacturers website. If you use wireless you will need the drivers for whatever adapter you use.
Cable from modem straight to pc. So drivers for motheroboard and instllation cd from my isp and i should be sorted and back online for that computer?
