Does the PC version still have dedicated servers or did they switch to matchmaking on the PC like w/ MW 2 and 3?

Thanks for any info.

Not to criticize something that can't be changed, but does anyone else think the Nintendo 3ds would have been perfectly awesome if it had 2 thumb pads? It no longer even suffers in comparison to its Sony counterparts in terms of storage space. Launch max capacity for cartridges is 2 GB with an 8 GB future ceiling. Launch capacity for Vita will be 2-4 GB NVG cards. Yes, the Vita has 2 touch screens and more processing power. 3DS, however, delivers some pretty impressive graphics, has 3d without glasses, and no longer even suffers from lack of storage capacity. PSP UMDs hold only 1.7 GBs.

I've never played a DS, before, and I know the stylus is well implemented in some games. Still, I would have potentiallybought the 3ds, not even for portability, just for 3d, if it had 2 thumbsticks. The only other disadvantage I can think of is that Vita will have wireless N (I think) and 3DS supports only 802.11 b/g. 3DS could have brought equal storage capacity (when storage capacity is a classic criticism of cartridge based systems), quite adequate graphics, and glasses-free 3d to the table, an effect that could have made the system worth it, even if only intended for home use. They included 3 cameras and yet did not add a second thumbstick.

Hopefully both systems will successfully find a niche. The upcoming price drop on the 3DS is pretty good. On a side note, Sony messed up big time with that mini UMD-less PSP when they were just gonna release the Vita w/in a relatively short time span.

Thank you very much for putting me on to HWMonitor. I'm amazed that it tells me the temperature in each individual core of my processor, my video card, and2 other set of temps. My question is whatare the other sets of temps? Motherboard?

I have temps in these categories:

1) ASUSTeK Computer inc (overall case? motherboard?)

2) AMD Phenom II x6 (processor cores)

3) ST3100052AS (hard drive?)

4) ATI Radeon 5750 (video card)

So I'm wondering what categories 1 and 3 are. And what are good temperature ranges??

Thanks so much for all the help.

thing is, would I fry the processor? I suspect I'll have to measure the heat? How are all these people measuring what temp their PC is running at, installing thermometers? Sorry, I'm an overclocking newb.

I have never done anything like overclocking before, but I am considering overclocking it once the factory warranty runs out in September. How far should I push it? 2.6->3GHz? I'd be happy pushing it just to 2.8, to keep it safe, but that might be not even worth it. It currently has 1 fan located on the processor... I would add a fan to the back of the case and a new heat sink. I wonder if this would be enough extra cooling.

thanks for the info about the program needing to be programmed to utilize that many cores. That's what I suspected.

I have an AMD Phenom II x6 system, a 2.6 GHz processor with 6 cores. The 2.6 GHz is not that high a clockspeed, but then again it has 6 cores. I also have a 1 GB video card. I was just wondering how much the number of cores matters because the 2.6 GHz is not that high.

Yes. Extra fans can't hurt. :P I have every spot where a fan can go in my case, filled with a fan. Three 200mm's, four 120mm's. Helps a lot. The Phenom II x6 is a great CPU, I have a 1090t running at 4GHz. No problems at all.SoraX64

How much could I overclock my 2.6ghz Phenom II x6? I was thinking maybe 2.8ghz just to keep it on the safe side. I have no experience with this what so ever and won't do it until the factory warranty runs out, but I figure it could extend the life of the computer. Bear in mind I'm not going to water cool the thing or anything, I'm just going to put that 1 extra fan in the back of the tower by the ventilation slots in addition to the fan attached directly to the processor.

btw, how much extra cooling do you have on that PhenomII x6 running @ 4 ghz, and what was the original clock speed?

Should I install an extra fan in my PC tower? I have an Asus PC that has an AMD Phenom II 6 core processor (are these any good, btw?) @ 2.6 ghz, 1gb video card. The fan is directly attached to the processor. There is no fan at the ventillation holes in the back of the tower. Should I put a fan at the back of the tower to further enhance the cooling?

I have a TV that allows you to display stuff in the mode it's being put out in or stretch the picture to fill the screen. 32" Sony Bravia 1080p LCD. My Wii is using the component cables and is set to 16:9, but I have to tell the TV to stretch the picture or else it puts out 4:3

My settings are: Widescreen Settings - 16:9; TV Resolution: EDTV or HDTV (480p). Still, the Wii puts out 4:3 and I have to tell the Bravia to stretch it to 16:9. It puts ot a square picture with 2 black bars on the sides instead of widescreen even though i have it set to 16:9.Any advice on what's wrong??? I can easily stretch it to fill the screen, but I thought Wii could put out 16:9 since it says so right in the settings.

Thanks for any help.

I know it makes it a collector's item, I just happen to think it'd sell systems if they produced more of it.It definitely made me feel like Wiiwas worth it.Ign gave all Metroid prime games a 9+ and I wanted to experience them with motion control, and it's 3 games for the price of 1. I mean really... I got the Wii so my mom could work out on it, and it has some good games, but the only games I even want are: Metroid Prime Trilogy, Mario Gallaxy 1 and 2, Red Steel 2, maybe Zelda Twilight Princess. Take away Prime Trilogy, which I could not get in a store, and you take 3 classic games for the price of one off the list. BTW, any advice on games I should add to that list? What's good on Wii?

Thanks for the pointer on the controls - I'm guessing the advanced setting gets rid of any auto-aim, and I agree that makes games more rewarding.
