Am I the only one that would rather read a transcript of the video (which would take less than a minute), vs sitting and watching a video? Most of the content here is dead to me because I have more important things to do than watch someone read a teleprompter while trying to look/sound cool and important.
That's why you should always check out the Metacritic score as well. In this case, Gamespot was one of the lowest ratings this game has received. Most reviewers gave it an 8 or so and some gave it a 9.
I remember a few months back, when everyone was saying "SOCIAL GAMING IS THE FUTURE!!!", and major gaming studios were trying to figure out how to cash in on the Farmville crowd. Now we see (surprise!) that it was just a fad, like anything else, and gaming studios need to go back to making actual GAMES.
@FuriousHamst3r Although I will say it is *possible* that Gamespot got some sort of broken copy compared to what the rest of the world has available, I guess that yeah, I believe what he is saying. If it was really a good game, or even a mediocre game, he would have said so. He has no reason to give a game a bad rating if it doesn't actually deserve it.
FTFA: "Hepler has been called "c*nt," "Jew," "slut," and "whore." She's been criticized for her gender, her appearance, and her religion. Attacks on her have referenced Hitler bestiality, rape, murder, cannibalism, and prostitution." I don't care about her suggesting a "skip" button for combat, hell, she could have suggested that there be a big "I WIN!!!" button that gave the player a 100% completion percentage with all the trophies. The kind of harassment and abuse she is experiencing is TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR, and absolutely ILLEGAL. I hope for her sake that this calms down quickly, no one should have to go through something like that.
Let me first say, I do use Steam to some extent, but only for somewhat older and/or less expensive games. If I am going to pay $50 for a brand new game, I want the box, disc, manual, etc. I don't want to be charged that same $50 if I am only getting a virtual copy. Also, ever since the PSN downtime fiasco, I am worried about having too many games that are only virtual copies that can only be played via Steam. Finally, games keep getting bigger and bigger in filesize, and I can't even begin to imagine how long it takes to download some of the current games, even over a high speed internet connection.
